nooooo godot! damn you and your gdscript!!!

i realised what the music finally reminded me of. are any of you particular fans of splatoon by any chance? i can’t overstate how fun it is and how much it fits the vibe! also i decided to press the button out of curiousity and absolutely 10/10 no notes

THANK YOU SO MUCH this is so absolutely adorable omg….. <3

THIS IS SO PEAK. the art is so adorable and having genuine animation for every minigame is incredible. OH AND THE MUSIC TOO!! each minigame is super fun and simple enough to pick up without any guidance. it reminds me a lot of warioware, and you did an amazing job making the switch between minigames not too jarring!

if you end up working on this more i would love to see a ramping difficulty. and i really recommend putting down a web build to play in browser so i can subject more of my friends into playing it >:)

im in agreement i absolutely love how this looks!! all of this is very visually striking and i love the throughline of art and assets.

i also struggled to understand how to actually play–i remember all of us watching my screen and marvelling at the visual style before going “WOAH YOU CAN STEP AWAY FROM THE SCREEN?” and the telephone was the first thing i clicked on after that but i remember the advice it having still being a bit confusing.

i stepped away from the terminal mostly by accident, and probably would have never realised there were more interactables in the room if i hadn’t. i honestly reckon having a bit more words on the game page would help in this case, but i still think what you have is really impressive!

the GUI of the terminal (which i still maintain feels less “terminal-y” if it’s not CLI lol) is super clean and behaves exactly as you expect. and i think every individual window is generally self explanatory, despite being a little hard to read due to font size. i really like ideas you had for gameplay, with the chat menu and the hitlist!

assuming your team’s inexperience from your comment on our game, this is an absolutely brilliant go, genuinely!

thank you! we have a couple members who have done 3TG before, some who have never done a jam before, so it was a a cool learning experience all round! and that (with the relatively simple game loop) is probably why we could polish everything up so cleanly :) that and will unexaggeratedly did just do whatever he wanted. which works out because the leaderboard competition has been utterly ravenous lol

Real. True. Radio is a really funny idea. I’m pretty sure I physically cannot die. Am i above death?

a card game for a game jam is suuper interesting! I really love the portraits of all the enemies, and a pirate/sea creature theme is absolutely after my own heart.

the card zoom-in was definitely helpful but i think the game could do with an “inspect card” feature when you check your deck! some more complex cards were still hard to read even when zoomed. and the zoom could be a little faster too.

i’m not sure if this was an error, but i didn’t seem to be able to use any of the purple cards. i could attack just fine with character cards though.

i defo agree that a tutorial could help for some of the different systems (for example, how many cards can i use per turn? what sort of attacks can my enemy do?) however i think a “card inspect” feature would have alleviated most of my initial confusion.

super pretty game with a lot of potential! from what i could read, there were some synergies i would’ve had a lot of fun with. i do tend to prefer strategy games though so perhaps im a little biased ;)

FULLY VOICE ACTED. absolutely fire.

i looove the visual direction, it’s so charming and fun. the art is so cute and expressive. banger game concept. please allow me to be meaner

THIS IS REALLY FUN!!! the nightmare sprites are super cute and the core gameplay is super intuitive! it’s definitely something i could see myself spinning up and losing a lot of time to when i have a few minutes to spare :P

a couple of things i think could improve the experience:

  • it would be really helpful to have an audio and or visual cue when you take damage
  • a gauge or indicator to see how many nightmares you have to use as ammo

i also think the tower defence aspect of the game was a little confusing? I didn’t realise that system was there until I read the description. i really like the idea of it, but it feels difficult to interact with, given how much you move around. and accidentally selecting a tower option could mess you up since it prevents you from using your vaccuum abilities in favour of doing a tower action. it felt easier to me to just run around and melee the guys myself.

that being said, slots is a godtier feature i love it so much. and the music is absolutely adorable, was it made in-house?? extremely fun game ^^

I was skeptical too. Will showed me the light (and then stayed up past 4am last night to add those the game too)
