RAVENFALL is an early prototype of an old-school dungeon crawler, built solo in Godot 4
I should say this upfront:
I'm not a developer, never worked in software.
Just an older guy chasing his Gold Box memories with modern tools and AI assistance.
What's in the prototype:
- First-person, grid-based exploration, one step, one square, 90° turns
- Random encounters leading into turn-based tactical combat on a top-down grid (rolls, armor class, side-based initiative)
- XP, level-ups
- Almost fully sounded, every ability and monster has audio
- BUGS!
What's NOT in the prototype:
-Saves, story content, character creation. Sessions are meant to be short (~20 minutes).

Uncut gameplay on YouTube if you'd rather watch first.
If you grew up on Pool of Radiance or Eye of the Beholder, I'd genuinely love your take on two things: does the grid movement feel snappy or floaty, and does combat feel like the old stuff?
