Thank you so much!!! I left a note on your video too, but it's very cool to have players who've been here from day one (with Conversations with Cannibals) continue to check out the game and help me shape it into something bigger and more ambitious. I really appreciate it and hope you enjoy the full release when it's out!

Hey, thank you so much! I am trying to tune the loop on the scale of mysterious to confusing, so it's very cool to see how much of the lore you gleaned! Right now my thinking for more content involves even more characters and cultists, some of whom are hinted at in this demo. But you could in theory run the game through with any different combination of cultists, which would also result in different dialogue options entirely based on who's present. And I would love to add more ending possibilities, including ones that "shape the community"!

I'm sorry about the resolution issue! I haven't encountered that on my PC or Mac, but I will investigate and see if I can reproduce and fix. Thanks for the heads up!

And finally, thanks again for leaving such a detailed comment, I really appreciate the feedback!

Hello! This was fun! It's immersive for sure, there were a couple times where I genuinely got a little nervous for a split second, thinking maybe I was messing with my computer Inscryption-style. It almost has like a Mr. Robot vibe to it, and the dialogue promts/command prompts flow very naturally. I did forget how to leave a conversation in the beginning though, I just pressed a bunch of buttons until I escaped it and was back at the main menu.

Overall, very cool. Will wishlist on Steam!

Oh man I know, very embarrassing... I realized my mistake after the game shipped, I'm so sorry... I don't even think I have the game files anymore to fix it. Maybe a note on the page somewhere?

Regardless, thank you for playing!

Oof "you own the labour but the platform owns the customers" too real haha. Well fine I'll just go for stability then!!!

Wait I got stuck -- the Lucien twist was great, but then I tried to find Henri and I have no where to go from here? No links available?

This is very frantic and fun! I didn't expect to all suddenly change weapons/fighter type, so suddenly slashing at enemies was very funny and cool. It's got great style for a minimalist look too. Thanks for sharing!

Ohmygosh, this is actually extremely funny. That music is STRESSFUL haha, I am bad at CAPTCHAs. And I got very tired of appreciating the cool guys face and just tried to verify -- immediate fail. This is great. I made a captcha-spoof game too, a horror version, and I love to see these different variations on the genre. There is something so darkly humorous about being defeated by these automated corporate tests looking for our "humanity". Thank you for sharing!

Hello! You have the chance to learn more about the cannibals from this game, may I present... CANNIBAL COURT (https://loomnorth.itch.io/cannibal-court)! This is an updated version of the game that adds more lore, more characters, more vibrant visuals and yeah, lots of more dialogue! Since you enjoyed the first game, I thought you might enjoy the successor game too. I'd love your thoughts! :)

Hello! It was so fun watching you play Conversations, thank you again for sharing! Just thought I'd mention that I've released a spiritual successor to the game and it's called CANNIBAL COURT (https://loomnorth.itch.io/cannibal-court). Since you enjoyed this game, I hope you'll enjoy the more advanced mechanics, visuals and lore of the new version. Have a great day!

Hello! Just thought I'd mention that I've released an updated and improved version of this game called CANNIBAL COURT (https://loomnorth.itch.io/cannibal-court), and it features a replay button from the start haha. Hope you like it!

Hey! Since you loved Conversations, I wanted to let you know that I've posted a new version of this game called CANNIBAL COURT (https://loomnorth.itch.io/cannibal-court). It builds on the existing lore and mechanics, but I've added more characters, more strategy and more vibrant visuals. I'd love your feedback!

Thank you again for the letsplay of Conversations!! I wanted you to know that I've released a spiritual successor to this game called CANNIBAL COURT (https://loomnorth.itch.io/cannibal-court). It has the same core mechanics and lore (dragging words for dialogue in a woodsy folk horror setting) but I've expanded on it and added more characters and a different visual aesthetic. I hope you enjoy the new version too, and if you get the chance, I'd love your feedback!

Hello! I have a new version of this game up called CANNIBAL COURT (https://loomnorth.itch.io/cannibal-court. I've updated the game but it still has a good/bad ending (and I'll add more as I work on the game), but this time you're trying to beat 3 NPCs in dialogue with you, not just one. I hope you get a chance to check it out! If you do, let me know what you think! :)

Hey! I really appreciated your letsplay for Conversations, and I wanted you to know that I have released a new version of the game called CANNIBAL COURT (https://loomnorth.itch.io/cannibal-court). It's an evolution of the lore and mechanics for Conversations, and since you enjoyed that, I hope you enjoy this one too! I'd love your feedback!

HI! Wow, I remember watching your letsplay of Conversations with Cannibals and just being super amazed that someone had so much fun with my weird little experimental systemic dialogue game. Thank you again!!!

I wanted you to know I've released a kind of spiritual successor to this game called CANNIBAL COURT (https://loomnorth.itch.io/cannibal-court). The world and lore is expanded upon, and the mechanics of dragging words to initiate conversation have been refined (I hope). I would love to get your feedback on the new version!

Hi cat_22289! Did you ever manage to beat Conversations with Cannibals? Well... I've released a new game, CANNIBAL COURT, and it has 3 NPCs to try and beat instead of one haha. If you want to check it out, I'd love your feedback! https://loomnorth.itch.io/cannibal-court

Hi! I released an updated version of this game called CANNIBAL COURT (https://loomnorth.itch.io/cannibal-court). It also has a good/bad ending, and the final version will have even more. I know you escaped pretty fast in Conversations, but the new game has 3 NPCs you're trying to verbally best through dialogue, and I tried to make the game a little more strategic (you need to convince 2 out of 3 cannibal jurors that you should not be food, but who you convince and how can vary). Also, you don't have to reload the page to play again haha. I would love your feedback if you get the chance to check it out. Have a great day!

Hi! I released an updated version of this game called CANNIBAL COURT (https://loomnorth.itch.io/cannibal-court). It expands on the mechanics and lore of Conversations, but this time, the torches get snuffed out to count down the turns, it's not a confusing green bar on a box haha. Feel free to check it out!

Hey! I released a spiritual successor to this game called CANNIBAL COURT (https://loomnorth.itch.io/cannibal-court). It has 3 NPCs to manipulate this time, which I'm sure Bateman could still handle, but I've tried to make the dialogue system even more strategic/logical to help the rest of us manipulate these cannibals into letting you go. If you get the chance, I'd love your feedback!

Hey! I actually released an updated version of this game, called CANNIBAL COURT (https://loomnorth.itch.io/cannibal-court), and it expands of the dialogue system/folk-horror lore of this world. And has a good/bad ending again! I hope you get a chance to check it out, I'd love your feedback!

Hello! I wanted you to know that I released an updated version of Conversations with Cannibals, and it's called CANNIBAL COURT (https://loomnorth.itch.io/cannibal-court)! This version also has a good/bad ending, and it's actually a demo for a larger game I hope to release (that will have even more ending varieties)! I've also refined the dialogue system to try and make it more "logical" to try and convince the cannibals to spare you (like I tried to add more strategy to the game). Since you enjoyed Conversations, I hope you get a chance to check out CANNIBAL COURT and give it a play. :)

Hey! I wanted to let you know that I've released the spiritual successor to this game, and it's called CANNIBAL COURT (https://loomnorth.itch.io/cannibal-court). This time, you can just click the mouse button to progress dialogue (and it has key rebinding available if you want to use a different button)!

Since you enjoyed conversing with Copse in this game, I hope you'll enjoy the new version, which has THREE NPCs to play against this time, and they are very different personalities from the original. I would love your feedback on the new game!

Hey! Guess what! I DID make a game like this again haha. I have released the spiritual successor to this game, Conversations, and it's now called CANNIBAL COURT (https://loomnorth.itch.io/cannibal-court). This version has 3 characters that you're trying to learn about/befriend/manipulate, and you're trying to play them off of each other (each NPC actually responds to what other NPCs say).

Anyways, since you enjoyed the world and mechanics of Conversations with Cannibals, I hope you enjoy CANNIBAL COURT too! Let me know what you think!

Hey!! I released the spiritual successor to this game, Conversations with Cannibals. The new game is called CANNIBAL COURT (https://loomnorth.itch.io/cannibal-court) and it actually implements one of the core pieces of feedback you had suggested... the idea of "saving" your words/knowledge so that each run starts further ahead. In the new version, not only are you up against 3 cannibals instead of 1, but on each "run", you get to keep the words you gathered in the last run, so you're starting further ahead each time (there's also an in-game tracker that shows what words you played each round to help you remember).

Anyways, if you have time, I'd love your feedback on this new version!

Hello! I've released the successor to Conversations with Cannibals, and it's called... drum roll.. CANNIBAL COURT (https://loomnorth.itch.io/cannibal-court). I know you spent hours on the last version, but that game only had ONE NPC to face off against. This version has 3 NPCs, and they also play words/dialogue against each other, so you create an emergent conversation effect as you continue to explore the folk horror lore of Conversations with Cannibals. Anyways, I'd love to get your feedback on it if you're so inclined. :)

Hello! I wanted to let you know that I've released the spiritual successor to this game, called CANNIBAL COURT (https://loomnorth.itch.io/cannibal-court). There still a good/bad ending (or at least, a bad/worse ending haha)... care to try and see if you can beat your record?? I'm just kidding, the new game is harder -- there are THREE NPCs to face off against in conversation, so it takes a little time to learn how to best them, but if you're up for more weird dialogue-combat in a folk horror world, I would love your feedback! :)

HEY! I wanted to let you know that I've released the spiritual sequel to Conversations with Cannibals, and it continues to refine the dialogue mechanics and expands the lore of the world. The game is called CANNIBAL COURT (https://loomnorth.itch.io/cannibal-court) and it continues the core "drag the word to initiate dialogue" mechanic, but now there are 3 NPCs who can respond to you and they also play words against each other, leading to a kind of ping-pong emergent conversation effect. I hope you get a chance to check it out and I would love your feedback!

Hey! I just wanted to let you know that I released the spiritual successor to Conversations with Cannibals... CANNIBAL COURT (https://loomnorth.itch.io/cannibal-court)

This new version has more characters, lore and more demanding graphics, but it does still run in the browser (I know you had some technical issues before). BUT there is a downloadable file this time too, because the game is more demanding browser wise, so it's a backup. Anyways, since you enjoyed Conversations, I hope you get the chance to check out Cannibal Court and let me know your thoughts!

Hey!! I wanted to let you know that I've released the spiritual successor to Conversations with Cannibals, and it's CANNIBAL COURT (https://loomnorth.itch.io/cannibal-court)! I tried to keep the small scale and the folk horror vibes (so that it will run in the browser still, but there is a download available this time), but I've added more characters and more lore to the world to explore. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this expansion of the game!

Hey!! I wanted to let you know that you CAN now experience more of the world of Conversations with Cannibals--I've released the spiritual successor, CANNIBAL COURT! I'd love to get your feedback on it! https://loomnorth.itch.io/cannibal-court

No problem! I've only ever posted browser-games up here, so let me know how it goes haha

CANNIBAL COURT

Convince them not to eat you.

Cannibal Court is an emergent-dialogue system game, where the conversation unfolds dynamically between you and the NPCs as you attempt to convince the majority of jurors not to eat you.

Collect knowledge

Listen and collect knowledge from them

Speak wisely

Steer the conversation how you see fit

Outwit them

Prove you're smarter than they think by answering correctly

Thank you so much!!!!

Hey! Okay, so you inspired me to just put a downloadable build of the game up! It wasn't the original plan but I would love for you to have the chance to play it.

Firefox is a known issue, but I'm surprised it's not working in Chrome! I tested Chrome, Safari and Edge across both PC, Macbooks and mobile and it worked all right for me, so not sure what's going on.

Anyways, I hope the downloadable build (if you're cool with downloadables) works for you instead. And I hope if other people run into the same issue, it helps them too. Thank you so much!!!

Oh no! Poor Marion, I didn't want to send her back out there. What a clever way to tell such a sad story. Thanks for sharing!

I love the style of this game! although I have no idea what I'm doing

This is amazing. It took me a bit to understand what was going on, but the experience of stumbling through learning was so groovy and pleasant that I didn't even mind. This game made me someone like me, who hasn't touched an instrument in decades, feel like a brilliant DJ. Very cool! Thank you for sharing!

Hmmm I don't know, I made it in Godot 3 and exported it as a web-game, but I don't think that's what's you mean? Sorry!

Very atmospheric for such a short experience! Thank you for sharing it!
