I was thinking of publishing it on Steam, and I was also working on a next installment of the game (Test Play). However, the reason why I am currently not active is simply because I am studying abroad right now, and any ressources I have or had, I am spending it on this endeavor instead. Once I settled on doing that, I dropped the Steam idea and put the other project on hold, I sadly donˋt have the time to continue like before.

However, my original goal with this game was to make my story visible and alive, and I still achieved that. That is already enough for me

Thank you for checking out the newest posts! Indeed it is possible to make it happen, I once also had an entire gameplay video of roughly half an hour showcasing combat and exploring a wider open map. However, it was not ‚enough‘ for me and also not very good to work with once I compared it with my previous work which only depended on 2D sprites. In the end, it was not worth it for me, especially since every model and the sets of animations were too costly for me.

I sadly have never tried or had anyone try it on Linux before, but what I can say is that it is originally made for Windows only, so I apologize for the complication

Thank you for checking out the game page! You can see on my oldest posts and my gameplay videos on my small YouTube channel that the character portraits were, at the very start of development and the first versions, AI generated. As I received more revenue I replaced them through commissioned portraits, made by a very talented artist. The same goes for any art on the games main page.

I just wanted to take the time to share a game that I really enjoyed: https://shibaintel.itch.io/red-do

It's a visual novel/dating sim kind of game where the player can control the character to do certain things each day. A brief summary of the story: The main protagonist is a hikikomori due to a scarring incident in their past which led them to avoid any social contact. A few years later, a close friend tries to help the protagonist to settle back into social life by offering them a new job position. Thus, a new chapter in their life begins as they start to rediscover the joy of living among other people again. Perhaps even finding themselves in a blossoming relationship with a certain someone along the way.

I really loved the characters in that game and how they were written. Though the developer is Japanese and the translations might be a bit off sometimes, it never really bothered me. The visual novel aspect along with the interactive part felt really great, and I also really liked the design of the characters.

I originally stumbled upon this game since it was made with Smile Game Builder and submitted to a certain jam that I was watching, though sadly up to this day it only is a demo and none of the routes can be truly completed. But still, I wanted to share it so that perhaps I can get others to discover it, and who knows, maybe I can contribute that it will be completed one day with this :3 it's for free!

I've removed the critical hit chance of enemies to get rid of the RNG factor, this should make it more enjoyable now :) since the rest of the enemies combat AI follows a certain structure that is unique to each foe, I've kept the rest as it is

Made by the very talented u/Khlaiser on reddit!

Clip studio paint :3

I only have a mouse at my disposal though, so this was the result:

I just double checked it and searched for it myself, but it shows up in the results normally. I can also see in the analytics that parts of my viewers came from search results, so that is... strange, to say the least. I don't know why it didn't show up for you o.O

My first ever project/game as a solo dev: Red Princess / a story driven fantasy/RPG with romantic elements
Gameplay Trailer / gameplay footage on YouTube if you'd like to see more :3
Summary:

In the frigid north, the land of Almera is ruled by the Almeran Empire, a country which is led with an iron hand. A chance encounter within its capital leads a young traveler to meet the Imperial princess herself, who just so happens to save him from a pair of thugs. Thus, leaving him indebted to her as a consequence...

It is sad that I could only go so far with the route I've chosen before the demo ends, but I still want to say that I really enjoyed my playthrough and would love to see it updated, even after so many years.

And there was never a patreon link to support ;_;

Thank you a lot for trying it out ^^ the game might deviate from the written story, but I hope it will be enjoyable!

Thanks so much for having taken the time to play! ^^ I'll try to fix the bugs that I am currently aware about, but as always, if there is anything disrupting the game enjoyment, let me know and I'll see to it as fast as I can

Thank you so much for the encouragement ^o^ #solodevshelpingeachother
