Dear Yourkhaleesi,

Wow! Thanks for your positive feedback. I'm so happy you enjoyed playing Nuts - A Dark Romance game, specifically Red the Squirrel route. Despite him as the bad boy villain, he was a delight to write, his art is just amazing, and the voice actor for this character is incredibly talented.
Sharing some fan art as a token of my appreciation for your time and making my day.
Kind regards
Lila

Dear Lostsoul07,
Wonderful news! Sorry you had to resort to family member computer and transferring files over to yours. Sounds painful for you, but I do admire your determination and dedication!
I hope you can now enjoy playing the game!  I'd love to hear who's your favourite love interest?
Wishing you a wonderful day ahead.
Kind regards
Lila

Hi Lostsoul07,

Apologies for the delay, work has been crazy busy.

May I please ask a few clarifying questions?

1. Can you confirm which operating system you're using?  From the screen shot, looks like Mac?

2. Can you confirm which sections of the game are impacted?  Are you seeing this weird three part body split for Red and Don for the whole game, or certain sections?

In the meantime, a couple of suggestions below:

A. Uninstall the game completely.

B. If not already using the app, try using the app:  https://itch.io/app.

C. Follow Mac instructions:

On Mac, to open the file, please right click/CTRL click on it and open it that way to add the app to your security exceptions, since this build is unsigned. You may need to do this twice.

D. Failing all the above, review the itch FAQ:  https://itch.io/t/305278/help-cant-run-games-on-my-mac#:~:text=A%20lot%20of%20people%20on,system%20is%20just%20blocking%20it.

Also: https://itch.io/docs/itch/integrating/troubleshooting-guide.html.

Good luck!

Lila

p.s. Tried to replicate your experience via Windows PC, but all good for both Red and Don.  Let me know how you get on with the suggestions above?

Oh this jazz music pack is wicked good!  Feel this jazz is the absolute best!  Love it!

Dear Hikiyami Moriko,
Oh my goodness, this is the cutest fanart ever!
Look at Hazel the hazelnut in the top right with her farmer hat, you even got her overalls design!
O the Owl in bottom left with his monocle!
And Red the Squirrel in bottom right with his cheeky smile!
Oh, this totally makes my day!
Thank you so much, Hikiyami Moriko, you are the best!
Love, Lila xx.

Ha ha ha ha!  Thought you might like that.  Originally, I considered Soccer Wolves (Lupi di calcio) as was trying to find Italian animal names that could be an "animal" reference for a soccer team name, which an animal that's near and dear to Italy as a country.  But then horse images and videos were throughout the game, so decided on Soccer Horses (Cavalli da calcio) instead :) as this is more consistent with your story and animal theme.  Awesome game, Wander!  Well done!

Dear Wandering Artist and team,

Well done on successful release for Haunted Club Manager 88!
Horror is not usually my "go-to" genre for games, however I hold Wandering artist in high regard as he's so professional in audio composition.

* Story, writing - just the right amount of angst and unease.

* Music Wandering Artist is an amazing artist as music composer. He's so professional, delivering quality music composition at a fast pace. The main menu theme music for Haunted Club Manager 88 it totally 80s retro with drums/80s synthesized sound, electric guitar, slap bass, sax, brass. It was also clever to re-use this main menu theme and add the destructive effects are added to create uneasiness. Very clever and bravo!

Awesome work!  Well done!

This game is absolutely brilliant. I'm starved for erotic, female protag games and this ticks so many boxes.  The sheer amount of computer graphics is amazing and endless and extremely satisfying. Bravo!

Dear Hikiyami Moriko,
Wow! Thanks for playing Nuts for 3 hours, that's so epic!
You've got such a great memory too! Blair was cool with re-using soundtrack assets for Red the squirrel as antagonist villain track :).
Sorry you didn't like the suitors, but I'm glad you liked Owl and Ester!
Fair point about the interludes, I'll look to improve in my next game and improve with even more polish.
Agree with you, may there be more godly chiselled Owl abs in the world.
And I'm so happy you liked the tumbleweed :)
Rock on!
Lila

First impressions:
* Confession: I have a thing for Ing, and that thing is "adoration". I remember seeing Ing post updates during Otome Jam with GUI and Logo, and I knew from there, this was a game to be played!
* GUI = masterful. There's a sweet "swish" when the sub menu opens and the sub menu name appears on the lower part of the circle like a wheel. So awesome.
* Logo = Gorgeous. On point with being a poison-dealing romance with the leaves and flowers to boot.
* Story and writing = Intriguing. Secret squirrel and engaging storyline with poison dealing romance. Super keen to try out more!
* Voice acting = Brilliantly casted.

Overall - amazing demo! Download now!

Dear AlecNightfall,
Thanks for your question about Android. Unfortunately, the game development team is geared for Personal Computer (PC) deployment, so Mac, Windows and Linux only.  Sadly, we're not geared for mobile devices or Android deployment.
However, there are other Otome Jam games I can recommend that do have Android as an option.

Here's some games that are popular for Android:
* Horror romance? Try Karamu.
* Comedy fantasy romance? Try Silhouette

Otherwise, please consider:
* Check out my Twitter post that credits Notafish for their awesome summary of all 73 games in Otome Jam 2023.
Unfortunately, no call out for Android specific, but if you feel motivated enough, I'd consider "borrowing" a loved one's computer for a night or two or three or the whole week, access your itch account and fully "Go Nuts" with downloads and have the time of your life.

Thanks for your interest in Nuts!
Kindest regards,
Lila

Wow! Nicely done!

First impressions:

* Video trailer = Impressive! Professional anime look and feel. Very classy and I'm totally blown away.

* Story = Intriguing. Love a lower caste with magical potential. I like to root for the underdog, so the story premise I already love.

* Programming = Cool! Love the highlighted character so you know who's talking.

* Art = Beautiful. From title screen, logo, character sprites, background.

Hey Kristi,
Here's what I love about your game:

* Character design and art - Peppermint adorable, puff sleeves and puffed shorts. Even main character lying on her bed at the start of the game and her expression changes are very cool.

* Background art - awesome! Reminds me of an edible gingerbread house. * Story premise - very cool! Otome Jam had an optional reincarnation theme, so nice to see a game entry that actually

* Story premise - very cool! Otome Jam had an optional reincarnation theme, so nice to see a game entry that actually fulfils that. Relate to MC situation - time & effort in game reward, so you want to protect your investment at all costs!

* Voice acting. Wonderful! With Max as Peppermint, you're grand!

Overall: An adorably sweet romance game. Got a sweet tooth? Kristi has got you covered!  Can't wait for more!  xoxo

Hi there,
Thanks to you, the Trigger warning screen is now much better with "general" triggers upfront, with player option to seek out the specifics per character should they need to. Thanks for highlighting this!  All updated in latest patched version 1.1.

Have a good day!

Dear Olivia,
Masterfully done with Burning Red!

My first impressions:

* As a thirsty consumer of two dimension men, and even thirstier consumer of not safe for work (NSFW) content, Burning Red is so satisfying.
Lesson learned: We need more Olivia / Lunamakaio NSFW otome game developers in the world! Please Olivia - can we clone you ten times to finish developing Burning Red faster? And also to develop more games like this, stat? In my dreams......

* Voice acting (partially voiced): Oh man, whoever is the voice talent for Alvarez, my hat off to you. Brilliantly done. Perfect casting. Deep, husky, gruff. Oh, his voice did things to me. Hell yeah!

* Story and writing and editing: So engaging! I'm intrigued by the main character's back story. Had to google this as my Greek mythology is dismal: Achelois means “She who drives away pain.” She was a minor Greek lunar goddess and believed to be petitioned when one was in some sort of pain. So Alvarez as Hades God of War with superhuman strength.

* Title screen is so hot. Logo design is awesome, love the chains and those implications. The fire embers rising are perfect in theme. Alvarez looks like he can carry the main character Hanna with only his right arm. He is seriously buff and super hot. Like whoa, and yes please.

* Overall? Yes, yes, a million times yes! I'm hanging off the edge of my seat waiting for more game. Is it too weird if I hit refresh daily and hope for more updates? Ha, ha, ha. Obsessed and 0% shame in admitting said obsession.

Bravo to Olivia / Lunamakaio! Absolutely outstanding demo.

Dear Chattercap,

Wow, Karamu is amazing.

My first impressions:

* Everything is awesome. Where do I begin? Note: Being otome jam, I'm a sucker for "romance good end" which will always be my first go to number one priority.
* Full voice acting = wow! Love both the love interest Raku, and main character Nelli's voices. Brilliant!
* Animations - blinking, hair waving, rolling background with Raku wheels her bike. So immersive and wonderful!
* Story - so engaging. I've so many questions - what happened to Sana? Why so protective of her backpack? Why break up with Raku in the first place - he seems so sweet. Okay, intense, but sweet.
* User interface - not only is the UI awesome, but the ten billion customisable features within it. I could do a whole video on the UI alone.

Overall: I loved it! Play it right now!

* The story is so beautiful and heart wrenching that I cried and couldn't play anymore. I'll come back to this when my heart calms down.
There's something about losing someone you love and then the process when you get that someone you love back.
* The art sprites and ability to choose between styles is very cool.
* Programming "helper" at the start of the game is super cool and professional.

Dear Chimeriquement,
Wow, you're amazing.
My first impressions:
* The story is so beautiful and heart wrenching that I cried and couldn't play anymore. I'll come back to this when my heart calms down. There's something about losing someone you love and then the process when you get that someone you love back. You captured this so beautifully and masterfully that I applaud you.

* Programming "helper" at the start of the game is super cool and professional.

Overall, I absolutely loved this. Chim - well done!

Hot grim reapers?
Can I fast forward those 7 days to one?  :)

Adding to my first impressions:

* I've never experienced grim reapers who are 1. Young and 2. Hot. This is a first for me, and I'm very happy about this whole concept.

* Character design = amazing:
* Cole - sci fi futuristic.
* Reynold - regal, serious, Duke, and
* Eugene - steampunk cool.

* Story premise with 7 days to choose a grim reaper and choose a fantastical world - helps keep writing tight and the goal really clear.

Overall, I really enjoyed this game!

Ready to take flight with Lord of the Wings?

MarySueGames and team have done AMAZING with this gem

If you've not played this yet, get right on it.

  • Voice acting = superb.
  • Writing = Witty & on point.
  • "Flirt" scene = Download worthy in and of itself.

Greetings, Little Miss Lee Stories,
Ahem, I hear from Lila you were hoping I could be a contestant?
May I share with you a little secret squirrel cheat?
Type your name as "Owlette" and you'll access my route.
Please do let me know if you require any assistance? I'll do my best to swoop in and help you.
Warmest regards,
O the Owl.

Hi Notafish,

Wow, thank you so much!

Our sprite artists will be thrilled to hear your feedback about gorgeous (x3) characters.  I agree with you wholeheartedly - O, the Owl is quite the fine specimen.  Originally, I had him as a fluffy, cuddly, but older, wiser owl.  It was fun to move away from that direction entirely, and only keep the wings, animal ears, talons and feathers for the "owl".  So basically a buff warden man with abs, and wings :).

Our writers and editors did amazing with the puns. I'm delighted you enjoyed the poem opening and character intro. That really warms my heart that it left such a good impression on you.

Props to programmers for the dynamic sprites transitions. And the voice talent did amazing bringing the characters to life!

Wow, your feedback means so much to me and the whole team!

O, the Owl thanks you:

O the Owl

"Greetings, Notafish. Lila tells me you like my present attire? Shall I stop shopping for a custom made suit, then? (chuckle). May we meet again soon, perhaps on a sunny day."

Kind regards,

Lila & the Nuts game development team

Hey LittleMissLeeStories,

Thanks for playing Nuts! I'm so happy you enjoyed Owl's introduction about his "attire" and that you noticed Don's tie! The user interface with acorns and leaves was masterfully done by Julian. The writing and editing team had a hoot and a half with the nut puns and jokes, possibly too much fun.

I'm looking into "general" triggers to avoid spoilers. Thanks for highlighting this. Next time I'll optimise the choices better so player preference comes first.

Ester the chestnut's design evolved significantly. Her "spikes", i.e. spiky hair, ear and snake bite piercings, shoulders, jewellery (necklace and ring) are the outer spikes of a chestnut.

Thanks so much for playing!

Lila

Hi Phoray, I'm glad you like the art and premise. I'll pass along your feedback to artists, writers and editors!  I'm glad you got the happy end with Ackerman.  I tried to label "dark romance" in the game title to help manage expectations. Sorry to hear that soured your happy end with Ackerman.  Hopefully this endings guide may help lift your spirits?  I highly recommend Owl's route to cheer you up!  It's a hoot!  Thanks for playing!

Kind regards,

Lila.

Well done to the "Reap your Love" team. Played Cole first, then Eugene. Can't wait for Reynold as I love their character design the best! Love the writing and story.  The 7 days timeline adds drama, tension and interest. Looking forward to more!

Lord of the Wings has totally made my day! I've always loved role playing games and adventuring. The voice acting is superb! Props to your voice talent! The art is wonderful - sprites, backgrounds, the user interface with duck sliders. Customisable main character colours, hair etc - are you kidding me?  Absolutely brilliant! Fern is so grumpy. Is it wrong to love her banter and utter displeasure at Baz? Omg, the options for a 5th party member - hilarious :) Love the demo!  Literally cannot wait for more content!

Wow, Olivia! Congrats, Burning Red is sooooooooooooooo good. Alvarez is so hot. Awesome casting with the voice actor. Man, his voice did things to me.  That scene - oh my. I need more scenes like that.  Awesome background art. Your writing and story is intriguing. I cannot wait for more content!  Amazing, well done!

Dear everyone,

Just wanted to clarify that Red the Squirrel and O the Owl are 100% romanceable.
Please check out the Endings Guide to help you.

Nuts: Endings guide (including Red squirrel and Owl as romanceable)

Red the Squirrel

"Hi, pet. You want to romance me? Chat with me every chance you get."

O, the Owl

"Greetings. To romance me, type "Owlette" as your name. Check out the endings guide for more details."

Greetings Pottermeriman,

How wonderful to hear from you!

O the Owl's response to you:

"Pardon? I've my first admirer? (blush) Why, thank you. Ahem, 'sexy owl guy', well, I, er, I suppose so. 'Replaying?' I do believe that is the highest compliment ever bestowed upon me. May we meet again soon, perhaps on a sunny day."

Big shout out to artist Shiroishi who did amazing for the art of O the Owl.

Shiroishi, artist extraordinnaire: Website: https://shiroishi.carrd.co/ https://twitter.com/ShiroiShi888

Love to Jason Hall, who performed brilliantly as voice talent for Owl:  (Website, Twitter).

Where do we begin with O the Owl?
* Eyes: black sclera's (not whites of eyes, but blacks of eyes).
* Monocle: a wise owl usually has glasses, so a "nod" to that classic accessory.
* Wings: mighty and also allow the "double hug".
* Hands: sharp talons
* Fitted leather trousers.
* Feathers highlighting his adonis lines.
* And his abdominal muscles really ARE that pleasing.

O, the Owl

Dear Tanya,

Thank you so much for your review of Nuts!

I'm thrilled you enjoyed the sweetest Don the doughnut love interest!  On the surface, he's rather a-corny, but get to know him and he may just steal your heart too!

p.s. Nuts fans - If you fancy "Saving a Villainess", check out Best Laid Plans Productions on Twitter (https://twitter.com/BestLaidPlansP).

Wow, loved it. Captivating writing, dynamic sprites, shadowy art, on point programming, wicked background music. Got Cirrus first - oh so wrong but oh so right. Thoroughly enjoyed the banter with Keir. This game is the whole package. Well done!

Hi Morphi,

We're delighted you enjoyed the animations with the sprites, our talent programmers Donnn, Tsunami and PJ will love hearing your feedback.  The sprites were done by the very talent Fungii.  The process from sketching, lineart, colouring and shading was truly masterful for sprites.

Thanks for commenting on the pacing, usually us writers don't get much in the way of feedback as the visuals tend to dominate, so really nice of you to say.

Wishing you a wonderful day ahead!

Kind regards

Lila

Hi Ei Kitara,

Sorry about the download issues.  Thanks for persisting and downloading via web instead.  Interesting about the loop, as you should only have to bury Selah once.  We'll look into it as the dev team.

Ah, Minerva's song was wicked fun to write.  It's a nonsensical song, i.e. made up words and gibberish, but Tabetha McNeal, voice actress sang it so well, with such passion, it brought brief respite to otherwise dark times.

Thanks for playing, hope you liked it!

Kind regards

Lila

Good point! Hopefully either or works for you. If you experience any download issues, please open a web browser and download from the web:  https://oishii.itch.io/the-mayfield-plague.  Kind regards, Lila

What a beautiful story. Oishii, PJ, and team, you guys are the stuff of legends.

Molly, aka Girl Got Game, has taken a gander at The Lost Delinquents of Rolling High.

Please support Jago Games and the current kickstarter!

The animation is amazing - each character moves slightly when speaking, including hair movement. And the eyes - not only do they shine, but also blink, the focus of the eye changes. The combination of the animation, huge investment in sprites facial expressions and clever programming with zoom in and out, makes the whole game come alive. Truly masterful.

Very clever, bravo! The balance of romance and horror is just right. I loved the choices and getting to the different endings. Well done!

Spoiler alert! I reveal aspects of the game demo that you may wish to experience for yourself. Please skip video and commentary to avoid spoilers.

What I like about this game:

* Character sprite art - the main character's pouty face when her friend Mara tries to recruit her as a bakery helper is just priceless.

* Programming - the cinematography is like watching a movie, so professionally executed, it's flawless. From one high definition computer graphic cut scene, you see the main character from bottom to top to end on her face for impact. Then a pan out to see the bigger picture with background details to set the scene. Masterful and brilliant. The assassin fight scenes are cleverly integrated with backgrounds, transitions and sound effects.

* Character designs for main character, love interests and even side supporting characters - so much care and attention to detail, truly delightful for the eye!

* Music - the trailer and just loading the game showcase the awesome sound tracks that accompany this game. Very cool.

* Writing and Story - Props to Aeriel (Donut Duchess) for directing such an awesome otome game. The story is unique. I don't see many dark otome games with demo's so well executed. Bravo!
