I assume you mean it's imbalanced? Our post-jam hotfix adds different difficulty modes

Thank you for your kind words! Rats are hard to kill but we were all raised in a deeply anti-rat area of the world (if you know you know)
We're working on a comeback mechanic right now actually and it should be in tomorrows hotfix once the jam is over! It'll make the game a lot less punishing for when you're doing bad and should create a good way to bring you back into the game. As for rewarding you when you're doing well, the game does cap you at a minute on your max timer to prevent it from getting tooooo easy!
It's funny to hear this misconception! While almost the entire team is composed of university students, we actually all go to different schools. Most of us met in high school as a matter of fact!. The University of Waterloo Game Development Club was just one of the communities I'm personally involved with and they provided some excellent feedback and early testing.
Given the postive reception, we're definitely thinking about how we want to expand the game further!
Appreciate the feedback! Time slowing down is definitely one the major pain points and mechanics that needed a bit more time in the oven. We initially wanted to make a lot more time based minigames especially so that the fluctuation of time would better serve the gameplay. We were also working on catch up mechanisms to make time slowing down less punishing and to reward players with a way to recover for lost time but it was another thing lost behind the time constraints of the jam.
Thanks for playing and thank you for letting us know about your experience!
A lovely game and a thumbnail i simply could not scroll past! I did end up finding one bug that made quite a few levels very different for me gameplay-wise. If you are holding a part and click the start button you get to keep moving the part. Because the part still has collision you can just carry the ball onto the button.
That aside, the intended way to play the game was quite enjoyable! This is one of the more creative ways the theme countdown has been approached in my eyes. Having the countdown not just be a limit but also a GOAL is quite inventive and really does add another layer onto this style of game! Good work and kudos to the team for a good time!
This was a very interesting experience! Definitely was disorienting to say the least and it took a good amount of time to get myself situated. It felt a lot like a game called Malus (https://oldays-studios.itch.io/malus) in that sense and while i did get a little sick, it was in a way that one could only assume was a bit intentional. Certainly a good spin on the theme in many different regards and the opening sequence was excellent as well.
Hopefully more people try the game out! It's certainly worth the download!
Appreciate the compliment! It was never an explicit goal necessarily to break a ton of new ground with Hickory. We went into this jam wanting to improve how our team works together and to make as cohesive and solid of a project as possible so we totally get where the criticism comes from!
Thank you for playing!
This was definitely one of our big design struggles! We were hoping to make more minigames that had time-based components that way the time slowing could be used to help make certain minigames easier. It ended up being a bit out of scope but its definitely something we want to spend some time exploring post-jam!
Most of us have been working together for a while now so we've got our strategies and working styles down pat! We were working with a new artist this time around though so a huge learning experience for everyone involved to make something cohesive! We're really happy with how things turned out so we're glad to hear that others think the same!
The rats are finicky! Their pathfinding and tuning was rather difficult and we would've loved more time to get them feeling better but alas, jams are tight productions!
I'm glad you enjoyed the game! Please do check out the soundtrack on SoundCloud if you enjoyed it a lot!
Thank you very much for playing the game! If you liked the music, I'd urge you to check out the album on Soundcloud HERE. Our composers are absolutely amazing and we couldn't have been happier with their work!
We may expand it but given we have some other long term projects as well it might have to wait lol
