Hi! thanks for leaving the feedback, it really gives me a sense of direction when it come to making changes / introducing new functions.
i will note your down your suggestions and see about implementing them asap. 🚀
For clarity if you wouldn't mind expanding on it - the hover indicator you mention would that mean using apple pencil / mouse / or simply something like double tap to confirm placement?
Looking forward to your reply! 🙂
Just a quick update: I’ve now added tile selection export, the reference image panel, and color palette improvements (import/export + extract from image). These are all included in the latest build and are currently awaiting App Store review (both iPad & mac version).
Really glad you’re enjoying the app so far — it means a lot 👍
The other things you mentioned are closely tied to the app’s core, so they’ll take a little longer to implement, but they’re definitely on the list.
edit: it's now been approved! :)
First of all thanks for the kind support! Even more so for reaching out.
Currently layer support is only on the TileMap mode, would the introduction of a layer system on the TileSet mode also be a welcome addition?
Regarding the ability to include a reference image in view, would you rather that be in a mini view or as a background to the whole canvas?
Currently the method for project import and export is entirely handled via folder icon and export project in the zip format (default or tiled format both work for import & export).
The color palette options, including the idea of import / export of them has been something I’ve been waiting for some user feedback back to decide on further development so thanks for bringing it up.
P.S, I’m aware of an issue within the animation editor highlighting all when there is more than one animation present, and that has already been fixed, just need to submit the next version update for it to reach you.

For those that develop or want to develop on iPad and Mac* i've been building TilePix for the last 5 months, just released update V1.9 building ontop of the existing feature implementations and further optimisations.
it's designed to do a bulk of the workload involving making a tileset, tilemaps and even has a built-in class editor as of writing using Bool and String class types. Exporting in a zipped JSON and PNG format or in a Tiled project file to maintain compatibility with major game engines.
Compatible with ipadOS 17+
