There can be a bug for older players that happens sometimes, can you try saving / reloading? It should work then and the error shouldn't appear again.

In your Save Screen at the bottom there is a Button, called Upload Synch. It will Upload your save to a server. On your load screen there is a Download Synch button - Click it and Type the Code that Upload Synch gave you - Done.

It will just add the missing  files, no full download needed

Uhm... We do have a chinese Translation from a native speaker - If you start the game for the first time it will ask you what language  -

otherwise you can just pick it in in the options

The party with Faelis and Mara is predefined in the code, so there shouldn’t be any way for that menu to appear

During the fight against the spiders and the Spider Queen? Party selection isn’t available during quest fights
I just tested it several times, and Aveline and Raine didn’t appear anywhere
