Thanks for the suggestions. I've been thinking about adding a rank graph for a while so I'll add it to the todo list.

There are two different endings based on how many levels you have completed, but it's pretty basic stuff admittedly :)

No story mode, no. Not my forte, I'm afraid.

Great write-up. I implemented your approach in my game and can see some performance gains too :)
Also, I can confirm the AnimatedTexture works great for animated bullets (although you do need to split spritesheets up into single images to implement it.)
