Yes! We are working on some very big changes right now so we don't know when it'll be ready yet though. (New enemies, legendary loot, spells, bosses, rooms, and more)

Thank you! Glad to hear there aren't any issues on Firefox, we've spent a good amount of time trying to pre-load assets and configure the game to have less hitching in general! ^^

Thanks again for the report, we have found the issue and it should be fixed in the next update!

Gotcha, thanks for the feedback! We'll keep it in mind as we continue to develop the classes and talent trees

Do you mean the grubkin's level? It should add 1 to max HP and damage for each level up. We'll double check that it's working correctly.

Glad to hear it!

Thank you for all of this detailed information and feedback! We really appreciate it!! We'll be looking into ways to reduce this lag / stutter for the next update!

Hey everyone!

We're Leafy Games, a small two-person indie studio!

Have you ever wanted to explore a deep dark dungeon but didn't want the hassle of actually doing the fighting? Have some cute creatures do it for you! Introducing our new project:  grubkins! It's an autobattling dungeon-crawler about building a party of little creatures and exploring the depths of a dark dungeon! Together, you'll find epic treasure, be faced with strange choices, and battle the deadly threats that lurk in the darkness!

Play the early demo in your browser here: https://leafygames.itch.io/grubkins

We'd love to hear your thoughts and get any of your feedback!

Demo Gameplay Video:

Yay! ^^

(1 edit)

Thank you for playing and for your feedback! Do you specifically mean the delay after clicking on a door to go to the next room or something else?
Edit: We've reduced the delay a little bit in the latest update.

Thank you!! It's been vary fun to make the silly art for this game!

Thank you for checking it out!

I love the visuals for this one, and everything is polished to such a high standard! Very addicting gameplay loop, it took me a second to realize that there were two tabs for upgrades, so for a few minutes I was just bonking the one ant over and over, but I quickly figured that out and then things just exploded in numbers lol! Awesome work!

Awesome entry, loved the humor and it was pretty challenging! Like others have said, the infomercial at the start was so good at both setting the tone and being a tutorial! Nice work!

Took me a second to get a handle on the controls and what I was meant to do, but when it clicked it was a fun challenge! I really liked the mix of 3d and 2d and, the art style of the player character is very cute. The "human made" sound effects are great. The whole vibe was very silly and cute, but still had some teeth. Awesome work!

<3

Thank you for playing and for your kind words, it means a lot!

I love them too!! Yeah I think I got Sizzle beat on total pizza consumed too lol Thank you for playing!

So happy that you enjoyed it! That is a very nice statement considering the amazing entries in this jam!

What an utterly magnificent entry. This is the type of sci-fi that I adore. What a hopeful, gentle depiction of an alternate past's future. The ARI as a concept is just beautiful, something made by humans, not for the purposes of saving or restoring humanity but just life itself. I also love what you did with the gameplay, the false starts really make the seeded life feel so fragile, it's all so thoughtfully considered and implemented. I also love the visual presentation, it was so cool to see the samples get more populated and lively and seeing the topography change over time, it's just so cool.

I really liked the art for this, and it was really fun to make a bunch of silly guys, it took me a second to realize the bars between the arrows are height sliders which adds a nice extra dimension to the fun lol!

This gave me flashbacks to playing slime rancher which is really cool, I liked how I was able to jump around and even leave the immediate pen area. For working under an even smaller time limit I think this is wonderful and charming!

Love the look and vibes of this game! Frogie is very well animated and polished, enjoyed exploring the world. Got the gearshafts but couldn't figure out how to use the machine to open the door and get further up the mountain! Picking up the carrots was pretty difficult for me, and dialogue seemed a little busted, but appreciated the stuff I saw!

OMG I'm so happy that this sentence exists lol, it's perfection!

I love them too, thank you for playing!

Thank you so much, we had a fun time making it!

Ha! I think we should call that a wiggle of wuguls lol

Thanks for playing!

Thank you! It was very fun to work on which made it easier to crunch a little on it lol

I'm glad it felt balanced to you! Thanks for playing Blake!

Thank you for much for playing and for the kind words! It means a lot!

So impressive! I adore how you can use a single item in multiple different ways, that's like true fashion design! The art style, animations, diving game mode, trends, all of it is so good! Incredible work!

I loved the designs of the critters that I saw, the pre-rendered 3D backgrounds and it being mixed with 2d sprites was all so charming! Also the whole box opening sequence is just *chefs kiss*
I don't know if I just got unlucky with my pulls but I could not get past this one particular battle. I'm not sure if I was only allowed to put three critters down at a time, but my three combatants just couldn't beat the 7 they were up against. It was also a little unclear which critters were mine and if they were still alive once they were in the fray.

Overall a really cute and charming game, well done!

I chose the little frog guy as my champion and he did not disappoint! It was fun to level up my skills and try and manage my time while climbing the ranks of the arena. I got so invested that I was shocked when it was over lol, nice work!

We used your music in our game jam project, it was a perfect fit for our silly game! https://leafygames.itch.io/grubkins

Thank you so much for playing and for your feedback!

Yeah maybe the RNG can make things a little too swingy sometimes, something to consider if we come back to the project!

Oh, I would have loved to see more interactions in the locker room! Petting them and seeing them interact with each other, maybe even cleaning them or something lol, maybe if we decide to develop it further!

Having a way to show HP more easily in a fight would certainly have been a nice feature, thank you so much for the feedback and for playing!

Oh thank you so much for the all of this feedback, we really really appreciate it! It's also great to see that someone got to the end and won so thank you for sharing that!

Yeah I wasn't sure how others were going to take the clash in tones so I'm glad you also found it funny!

Thank you so much, we really appreciate it!!

Oh wow thank you so much for the kind words! Having played your entry, you certainly know a lot about polish so that means a lot!

Thank you! I would also die for my zipduck! lol

Thank you for the feedback, a way to better track their health would have certainly been a nice option to have for sure!
