I had a great experience overall. The intro is beautiful and very cinematic! For a while I thought the game itself would be going a bit more and then at some time we would get into the boss fight haha. Overall it's a round experience and a solid submission, with potential of going further! Congrats!

I'm really surprised of the game results having the time you had. The game is really fun! I admit that I was a little worried about giving access to my cam, but in the end I've decided to try it anyways. It's one of the most interesting gaming experiences of the jam, and the sounds and visuals combine perfectly. Well done!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts SoftDev! I'll take notes on the explanations and viewport bug. It was in web or in Windows?

Again, thanks for your appreciated feedback, and Good luck in the Jam! 😄

Thank you so much for the feedback Florian! Yeah the punching was  a "failsafe" in case players run out of ammo too frequently but it can surely be used with a key. I really appreciate your thoughts and will take it into account. Good luck in the Jam, I'll check your game soon!

Wow, thank you so much for the detailed feedback Zoldyck! Really appreciate that and the fact you've enjoyed it.

Yeah, I think one of the best options for the tutorial could be adding a graphic explanation like in your game, I'm definitely take notes on that, also I was thinking on making an intro but there were some time constraints, should make it in a later iteration. And yeah the "fixed" shooting was a decision to make the game a bit more challenging, but I'll add a cursor aiming in a couple of days, balancing difficulty of course.
Again I really appreciate your thoughts and wish you the best of luck too! 😄

Thanks for the feedback Ciccino! Yeah that was a design choice, but I'm preparing a patch with a cursor mode to launch after the jam! I really appreciate all suggestions and I'm taking notes of things most people agree on to add them 😄

It's a nice game with fun mechanics. Maybe adding some audio could be great! Also, some mode where you're the boss to fit the theme better. Anyways I had fun testing it!

Great work! I liked a lot the gameplay and movement mechanics, and the art and music fits really well. I've found a way to cheese the encounter at the end, but I won't tell anything, people needs to find their victory themselves hehe.

Congrats!

Yeah I definitely understand it better now, So I did better in a recent run. thanks for taking your time to explain it!

Thanks man, you've made a great game too! Keep it up!

It's a truly fun game, the graphics look cool and the music fits. I personally liked the shotgun mechanics and even without a tutorial the game is very easy to understand.  An improvement could be something like an special mob to end the run, other than that I think it's a solid submission!

Btw as a side note, for some technical/unknown reason the game runs poorly in Firefox, but I switched to chrome an everything runs smoothly!

Solid submission! The visuals are great and I had fun in the boss battle. Gameplay is a bit simple, but this can be improved later. The voice acting is cool, And the game itself has the potential of going further by having more events between the beginning and the boss battle. Congrats!

I gave it a shot and couldn't understand it, so I've waited a bit and tried again. I think the game has potential, so far what I understood is that you need to burn cards to get energy to attack. Hopefully I'll try a couple of times more and understand things better. Art is great tho. If you want to drop some hints I'll be grateful, because I want to understand this game in the close future, so keep it up!

The game is really fun, the mechanics are good and the art is great. Maybe more mob or map diversity would be great, and maybe a bit more impactful boss battle, but you'll have time for that after the jam. Great submission!

Sorry, if anyone can help me with this game. The bar only fills with enough hits once the boss is destroyed, so I don't have the time to do the space bar synchronization mechanic. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Thanks in advance!

EDIT: Now it works, it could be the browser or something like that, but the problem is solved. The game experience is good and the controls are very dynamic. Thanks for the help and congrats!

Great submission! It's a good game and fits well with the theme. I have no complains honestly. Congrats!

Really fun, funny cartoon visuals and fits well with the theme. Good work!

The pillar system is really interesting, and it's the thing that shines the most from this game. Simple but effective, so it would be interesting to have this in combination with other mechanics.  Keep it up!

Short game, but funny. Liked the visuals and the simple controls. Good work!

It was a nice experience after I've learned the controls. The setting is cool and surely is a fun game and can even be improved and expanded. visuals are good and the music too, It reminds me of some of the old flash games. the initial cut scene fits well.

On the things that could be improved there are game's UI (seeing the attack radius and the enemies left, didn't knew when those turrets would stop appearing  lol) and the abrupt ending (trying to explain it better in game). Overall it was nice, simple and fun. Congrats!

At first I didn't get some things but after a couple of deaths I've started to understand the game better. It was a good experience overall and the game goes well with the theme. visuals are nice and combines well with the music. I think it needs a bit more of play testing to balance abilities though. And there is a small bug that makes the Act I label change to Act II permanently when going to the second act, dying and retrying, just to let you know.

Nice work!

Really funny experience. The theme goes very well and while the place seems a bit confusing at first when checking the map everything  gets better. Surely you've caught the frustrating aspect of having last minute requests after a long day (and that's a good feature lol). Great work!

I had a great time playing this game. It goes well with the theme, it's well executed and the sound effects are nice. The most important thing of a game is to have fun and I surely had, maybe a tutorial could help some people (and making more levels later would be nice).  Solid game

Thanks for the feedback comp! Really appreciate that.  I'm surely raising those item drops after the game jam ends, so people can have more time to explore and gather power ups.  I'll check your submission too!

I'm glad you enjoyed it Timo! Sure, things like hitboxes and controls can improve, so I'll tweak some things after the jam. Thanks for taking your time!

Thanks for the feedback and taking your time to play, really appreciate that.  Yeah adding more weapons (or laser modes) would be great in future updates!

Thanks for the feedback! Really appreciate that. I understand the "boss" theme  can be a bit too vague, maybe some intro could help. Anyways I'm glad you've enjoyed it!

The game fits really well with the theme and I love the suitman's sprites, however I think the game itself needs a bit polishing. The controls and hitboxes feel weird man, and when I've done exploring and dying and noticed the game itself continues with a boss battle when going something like 15-20 minutes had passed. The platforming seems both as good as punishing, you've surely enjoyed a lot hiding those ancestral fires lol.

I think with some more dev time the game will shine. Good work, you're going in an interesting direction!

Great submission, really cool concept that goes with the boss theme. Couldn't get to the boss yet, but the puzzles are nice and I liked the branching ways.

If I can think of one point of improvement, could be that the music can be a bit repetitive in the long term (after dying a couple dozens of times lol), but nothing that can't be changed adding some other BGMs of the same style.

I hope you keep improving and playtesting the game, the concept is really nice and it stands for itself

Thanks for your feedback dude, I'll surely improve the mob density and make a better experience that way. will check your game soon!

Thanks for the feedback Noah! Will surely take it to improve the game. Area 67 is not as fun as the other one haha, I'll check your game soon!
PD: The boss reminds me of your profile pic tho

Beautiful post, thanks! All feedback will be noted and considered in a future patch after the Game Jam ends. The shooting restriction was a design decision, but after game deployment I think I should consider your feedback, for this or another future game! And, there are some differences on the boss between difficulties, but don't want to overextend on that. Thanks for taking your time and make a detailed post, will check your game submission very soon!
