The implementation of the dice is nice - it feels tactile. The calculation of the HP seems unclear to me, though.

The incremental progress of the game is fun. The fact that all the animals are dogs feels very creative. A little more clarity on the mechanics would be nice. Even after some experimenting, I'm still not sure what the water does or what the gray hands mean. I think a simple image with the symbols / food chain displayed would have explained a lot. The 5x speed option killed my framerate in the late game, but that sort of thing is to be expected with that many objects, in addition to being a bit funny too. Nice soundtrack. Great job!
This game is really charming and I think you two were very successful with achieving your vision. I love the art (especially the painterly looking parallax backgrounds) and it reminds me of what I really enjoyed about old Newgrounds games. I think the detection areas for the wasp attack may be a little too large as I would be stung at what I perceived as a safe distance. Great entry!
I loved the cutscenes. They really made the game feel polished, and the artwork was great. I loved that there was a boss fight too. The game would have really benefitted from some sort of attack feedback (sound effect, visible flashing, etc.). The parallax backgrounds were buggy for me would only start to tile when the edges where already visible on screen, but that might have something to do with my monitor resolution (1440p). Overall great entry!
I've been really interested in diegetic UI recently, and find your use of light radius to display the player health really refreshing. I also like how the upgrades provide a sense of game progression. I appreciate the HTML5 build as well. An end goal and a way to restart the game upon dying would have been a nice addition!
