Thanks so much for playing and the feedback! We'll be applying a bunch of changes before the next public test. It's not obvious (my fault ha) there is a tutorial for the battle scene and inventory that helps with some of the mechanics. It's the question mark in the top left corner. It will definitely be getting an overhaul. Stay tuned!

Thanks so much for playing and the compliment! We learned a bunch from this test and we'll be applying that feedback for the next public test. Stay tuned!

I sorry for the issues! Unfortunately the game is only playable at 1080p right now. It doesn't scale properly. We will be making a 720p version in the future after we add more content and apply some of the changes we learned from this alpha. Thanks again for your interest and stay tuned for another test!

Hello again! After a year we have an alpha test for the new version of the game! I'd love your feedback https://kotaharp.itch.io/deck-beater-concept-alpha-test

Great Demo! I think you can rest assured that you did make a good shooter! I can feel the Bioshock inspiration in many ways here. Lots of lootable objects and environmental interactions. No aiming down sights which is a classic Bioshock feel. And the talking TV narrative delivery! I love that you see a small video in the corner if you aren't looking at the screen. Such a good detail for people that like to loot and listen but don't want to miss something. Brilliant.

I think overall this is great! Good player controller, good gun feel (although I have some nit picks below), great SFX and music, really good level design (twisting rooms that loop back into themselves (again very Bioshock and metroid inspired), and good visuals. Game also ran well for me although I have a high end system. Only performance issue was shader stutter throughout the demo. If you can add a shader precompiler before playing that would be amazing.

Some of the nitpicks are, I don't like that pop-ups completely interrupt the gameplay. It feels bad especially in the beginning when I get like 4-5 in 5mins. The reload animations feel out of place in an otherwise well polished game. They are stiff and boring. For a game with as much atmosphere as this, it feels like the reload animations should have more flare and personality to them. Sprint icon shouldn't disappear when it's recharging, I have to sprint again just so I can see the progress which slows it's recharge time down. The secondary fire on the hammer shouldn't show up if I just tap the mouse button. It should have a short delay before showing me the charge circle. And the revolver and tommy gun both have a very similar secondary fire where you just hold down the button to shoot multiple rounds quickly. Economy is too generous. I did find most of the extra ammo and tickets around the levels but I was able to purchase every upgrade as soon as I picked up the new gun. I had like 1000 tickets at the end of the demo with every upgrade purchased already. Pressing backspace should never be a menu button... esc or space please. Enemy spawns were a little strange. Sometimes I had to hunt for them since they spawned on the other side of the level. I never died or ran out of ammo so many balance damage and economy more? I'm not an amazing fps player but it did feel easy.

I had no bugs or issues with this build! Very polished demo. I've been watching your channel for years and it's great to see you have lived up to what you teach. I know you're stressed about launch. This demo gave me confidence it should be fine. Thanks for the content over the years! Good luck!

Haha thank you ;) not currently. We are going to work on a more polished demo over the next couple months. And we'll post that on itch first. I'll post in the description of this game the steam page link if the more polished demo does well. Thanks for the interest!!

Thank you!! Congrats on your game as well!

Thanks for playing! As a card game, the bug that doesn't let you play cards sucks haha The next version won't have that ;)

Thanks!! We do plan on turning it into a full release. But there were mechanics left due to time so we are rebuilding it. Look forward to it! :)

Thanks so much for playing! We are looking into building this into a full game! There were so many features that didn't make it in. Stay tuned!

Sorry you had issues! That option is enabled and I've been able to play the game, same as others. Are you using chrome? I had issues on safari.

Thank you! would have loved to add more polish and a short tutorial

Thanks so much! :D

Satisfying to get them out of the way. Cried when my bois died

Thanks for playing! Sometimes cards don't let you play them... not intentional lol If you hover over the enemies, it will tell you what health they need to be at to capture them. Sun and Moon cards are passives when they are in your hand. If you hover over them, they tell you what their passives are. Sun heals you when playing cards. Moon negates creature insubordination. :)

controls are a little clunky but it's a cool concept having to match spells to the enemies. Nice entry!

lantern felt great to drag around. A slight delay on their movement would have been nice when trying to only move one. Solid game!

I  also had no clue what to do after accessing the computer. The creepy guy in the corner was cool but he was just vibin' the whole time lol visuals and sound design were both awesome!

Thanks so much for playing!
