Hi! Ahimsa from Knight Owl Publishing here. I'm not sure how far I'll get, but the idea is to adapt my novel Beneath the Mantle to the Primal Quest ruleset.

The old man's name changing is actually a hint towards his real identity.
As to the others, good find. We've fixed it now.

Seek ye what lies below the water.

You can do something with the needle, and you can survive if you find the right items and clues. Starting with something from the cave after talking to the old man is important.

We can offer another hint if you want something more detailed. 

And yes cat ending is best (?) Ending 

Not a stupid question. Pages are one page at once.  Spreads are two pages at once, more like an actual book.
