Very cool mission, love the way the Red Cell kinda has a "pack tactics" thing going with their armor increasing when they're together. Cool locations and themes, this fits the jam theme perfectly and I like where you took it!

Short, sweet and deliciously simple. I love the motifs here and the open-endedness encourages play from both sides of the referee screen. I'd love to see this expanded upon in the future, maybe with a chessboard element but that's just because I love a good external component in my ttrpgs. Still, the information for the referee and the multiple ways players can tackle this (along with the time constraint) makes for a great mission that is a great contender for convention play.
I'm such a huge fan of your work and this series of portraits you've been publishing have been invaluable. I used some of them in my latest mission for FIST: Ultra Edition and credited you <3
I'm so glad you liked the overall style and the racing stuff felt satisfying!
I do agree with you that the ending could've been tighter on my end, in truth the pressure from the jam did kinda create a "tack this on" moment where I didn't have time to workshop a more satisfying optional ending (or multiple endings). I definitely think it'd be stronger if something like having to confront a fleeing Remo or setting up for a final confrontation in a government building where you have to capture Remo for the Detective might feel like good alternate "win conditions" outside of just finishing the mission with the race.
In either case I definitely wanna revisit the ending portion of this in the future and I appreciate the constructive criticism <3

A short and concise mission. Love the use of the flooding submarine trope with a cult-injected twist. The use of blood is evocative and I love the idea that the more you kill cultists the more it floods. I'd love to see a version of this mission that's maybe page longer with a tracking tool or chart for referees to keep track of the blood level on the submarine easier and maybe some key art thrown in but as it stands I think this is a great example of how a FIST mission should be written.
Wow, thank you so much for the amazing praise and constructive criticism. Couldn't agree more, these rooms need to be more descriptive to get the mood across and set the scene.
XEPHION was a jam submission and it was down to the wire so we had to be very bare bones with the writing but we are working on a Complete Edition where we will beef up the document as a whole, this note will definitely be taken into account during our revision process!
Wow thank you so much for such high praise! We're so happy that you felt we hit the mark with the Alien and Metroid inspo and that it was an enjoyable read <3333
Your notes are great and honestly we wanted to included a time table/evolution countdown section but we just didn't have enough time. And coin values is such a good point, totally should've been more thorough about such a central theme to the game. But definitely look for both to be addressed in XEPHION: Complete Edition after the jam is over!!
Finished reading the entire book over the weekend and I am floored at the style, detail and spirit of your game. As a person completely enamored with the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime as a kid (and an avid player of Magic the Gathering as an adult) bravo. I am so excited to run this game for my friends!
Question for you as a fellow game designer: will you be expanding on the game with third party content/game jams? I would LOVE to write a sourcebook/campaign for your system with a cool badge on the cover and proper attribution. I know you're busy with your backerkit rollout but I would love to see some third party assets/resources in the future if you were interested!
Wow, thank you so much for the glowing review! And I agree with you. The Dying Man could be a little more fleshed out. I'm planning on making an updated version with a few more pages where I can give him a whole section for future referees.
Happy to hear your players enjoyed it as well! Can't wait to pub the full campaign :)
