Hey everyone 👋

Level up in ASCEND and you’ll unlock one of three stylised 3D kitten assets — free to download and use in your own projects. Click the reward when it appears to grab it.

Small way of saying thanks to everyone who’s jumped in and played. It’s been really fun watching the network grow with real players.

🎮 ASCEND

See you in the network. 🛸

Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed playing. I totally agree the time felt a little short, so I’ve bumped it up from 45 seconds to 1 minute. Let me know if that works better!

Thank you! I tend to do the same, I leave it open in the background and play it throughout the day whenever I get a chance :)

Thank you so much! I am really glad you liked it.

This has such a charming and relaxing atmosphere. The art, music, and cozy vibe all come together beautifully. It took me a little bit to figure out how to get to the next level, but I managed in the end and really enjoyed the experience. Great work on the submission.

Cool concept and very atmospheric! Shooting the light links to open the doors is a neat core mechanic. Good job on the submission!

I really enjoyed this, it was a bit scary! :D  loved the concept, good job!

The presentation and UI look very clean, and really like the music! It did take me a moment to wrap my head around how it all works but it’s a really unique concept for a jam and I can definitely see the ambition behind it. Great job putting this together!

Thank you! I am glad you enjoyed it. Inspiration for the theme came from recently watching Project Hale Mary :)

Here is mine! It’s a multiplayer trivia game that would be awesome to stream if you can get a lot of contenders connected at the same time (I hope my server doesn’t crash 😅).

Plus, I showcase the game profiles of connected players between rounds, which should help get extra eyes on their games too! Hope you have a lot of fun with it: https://kittenkapow.itch.io/ascend

I love the mechanics! After recently watching Project Hail Mary, it was even more fun pulling off my own slingshot maneuvers :D

Thanks! I played yours as well and really enjoyed it. I really like the drawing style and navigating the mazes to find each other is a super neat idea. Having the option of another player is a nice touch too.

You’re welcome, thanks for playing! I just rated your game too. I absolutely loved the ocean descent and having to use the flashlight was a really nice detail. good job!

Very cool, for some reason, I got stuck, and found tha only W and S keys were working (moved the player), but ended up using my arrow keys instead which worked well.

Very cool! I could not stop playing it :D

Very cool game!Rated.

Wow! very polished game. Nicely done!

Rated back.

Appreciate the kind words! Figuring out a unique spin for the theme was a lot of fun.

Thanks for the comment! A single player can still progress on their own (by playing against a bot). However, if two or more players submit an answer, the game switches to majority vote logic. I definitely agree though, it’s much more fun when everyone joins in at once!

Play some trivia, promote your game.

I built a showcase that features your submissions between every round!

All you need to do is click start, enter your itch.io username, and provide the name part of your game page.

Play Ascend here!

Give it a try :)

It was fun trying different combinations to solve the puzzles.  The instructions were a bit confusing but I managed to figure it out in the end.

Great game, I love how the world gets darker when you are not near a safe zone, very atmospheric.

Thanks for the feedback. The core idea behind the game is that it is meant to be played by multiple players simultaneously, where the majority-selected answer becomes the “correct” path forward. The intention was to create a sense of connection between players by grouping people who think alike and making player choices shape the experience together.

Because it is unlikely to always have enough concurrent players during testing, I adjusted the logic so solo players can still progress independently. However, I agree that without enough active players, the social connection aspect and overall motivation to keep playing are not as strong.

Thanks for your comment. The initial idea was to use the answer selected by the majority of current players. However, since it is unlikely that multiple players will be using the game simultaneously, I modified the logic so that a single player can still progress through the game independently.
