The music is so funny xd Nice game

Ice skates on your feet xd Never again like that or at least no lava where you can fall. Thanks for playing

Yeah had to balance my time all over the place since I'm still so new to everything. Glad you enjoyed it though! I didn't make too many performance tricks so it could probably run better.

Oh that is a funny oversight that the cubes heal when you shoot them haha. Thank you for playing!

Wow. The game fits the theme really well, the music sets a really amazing atmosphere and it's fun and creative all around. Gotta come back to finish all there is :)

That is so nice to hear! I wanted to make the rocket jump a required mechanic, but thought not everyone would know it for a gamejam so :P You would have survived

This game is so adorable. And it's incredibly thematically fitting! It was also really fun to play, the jump does feel a little weird, but I saw it was in the notes. An awesome entry :)

Wow! This game is incredible and feels like a full proper experience. I do wish the looting was slightly faster since you do so much of it. Maybe it's an upgrade like faster movement was, but the base speed could still be a bit higher IMO. An amazing submission either way!

Yeah clearer communication of the mechanics is definitely my big takeaway from this jam. Thank you for checking it out!

Thank you so much!

Yeah.... downside of me adding being able to go to the menu the last minute, I made it the worst way possible. But it was the fastest haha. Thank you for checking it!

I agree the game needs a good tutorial, easing into mechanics and clearer visuals for things like losing health, healing, doors ETC. Next time I make something those are definitely the first thing on my mind. Also you got me to realize the slipperiness would probably not have been a problem, until I designed a level where it became a big problem. It was my first time building levels really, and it shows. In the future I gotta build the levels to fit the mechanics of the game better. Could have gone a little slower less slippery movement for these levels, or build levels that require more speed. Thank you for the valuable insight and checking my game!

It goes to the "door", which admittedly looks just like a colorful cube. Would have needed to make a tutorial really, but didn't have the time. There is a really bad "guide" I made but it's definitely not enough. Thanks for checking it :)

(1 edit)

Yeah I should have made things clearer haha. You constantly lose health and the colors get more corrupted, kinda to be more thematic and to encourage going faster. Didn't wanna make it too hard so the cubes heal you to full. But it should really be explained in a tutorial I never had the time to make. Glad you liked it!

Hey! Is there anywhere I could message you? I would just have a few questions about the virus.

Thank you for checking it out! Retro look and shaders my beloved

Gotta love good games of many kinds ;)

OK  I finally managed to do it, apparently you can jump (sometimes) while on the ladder. But the ladders are definitely quite janky and confusing. At least I can now try more!

The art is amazing and the concept of the game fits the theme really well. It's maybe a little too difficult, but I enjoyed the challenge. I really wanna play more, but I'm genuinely stuck on the 4th level where the console is. The ladder after the console doesn't seem to go all way the way to the top. I've tried wall jumping, but can't make it work. Maybe I'm missing something?

This was really fun and I love the concept of combining base building with the vampire survivors style gameplay loop.

Woah is it hard though! Maybe I'm just bad, but I had a tough time getting a base going a lot of the times and once I did I feel it was very overwhelming. I still had fun though :)

Super smooth controls makes this a blast to play! I wish it had the amount of food you've collected or a timer or something so I could try for a really high score. Let me get rank 1! :)

I love the concept! I feel like sound effects in this game could be so fun and make it pop a lot more. And it was a little hard to understand at first.

Either way there is definitely a unique gameplay loop here and I had fun with it.

This game was a blast. I forgot how much I loved these style of games as a kid.  And the music is incredible!! I was very motivated to try keep going further to hear the awesome vocal section. I feel like the upper driving areas could have used something there. And I think you don't get money for a winning run, so I felt scammed since I still wanted to try the last car I hadn't unlocked. But I just got it with a new run real quick :)

Thank you for checking it out!

Damn slippery feet that I should have definitely fixed. At least now I know! :D After the Jam I've found a nicer movement. Thank you checking my game out.

So glad to hear people liking the atmosphere. Thank you for checking it out!

Slippery feet slipped my focus, but I've now found a better way to make them movement due to the feedback.
More feedback and a clearer sound effect for the health would definitely have been a good idea to add. Well perhaps next time.
Thank you for the feedback and playing!

I definitely should have looked more into fixing the slippery feet.
The "tutorial" image is in the guide in the main menu, but my menus are definitely bad, so I should have perhaps made it a pop up you are forced to see. Or just made a better tutorial!

I played around with different visual corruption ideas, but settled for a less abrasive option. There is for sure a better middle ground though I just had to move forward with something.

The garbage collector for the healing is a such a good idea I wish I thought of.....
And I intended to add more levels of progression to the corruption of the music, but ran out of time. At least it corrupts a little.

I'm so glad to hear the shoutout on the music though. I thought I might have wasted precious Jam time making it, instead of fixing the slippery feet, but thankfully it seems to have helped the atmosphere a lot and was more than worth it :) (Plus I LOVED making it)

Thank you for such an in-depth look at my game and even playing it twice in such a stacked jam. I will definitely keep making games.

Bloodthief dev logs is where I first heard about the level editor. First time trying it and I’ll be using trenchbroom from now on haha.

I couldn’t figure out how keep it fast and remove the slippery feet, but after the jam I’ve found something better. If only I looked more into it earlier 😅 Thank you!

Definitely in the spirit to skip most of the last level like that, so I’m really happy to hear you found that!

(even though that one was unintended xd)

Thank you for playing

I love Starcraft so this is really cool to see. Hopefully finds a more expanded use in the future!

Artwork is very cute

Very cute! Could maybe use some additional mechanic for more excitement.

Saw this earlier on the discord and was excited to try it. Combines the themes incredibly well. Fun and charming on top of it all. Great work.

I feel like the hat mechanic could use bit of work. But it was still really fun to play and a sick submission!

Thanks for playing! Yeah I was debating on adding one, I should have.

Really solid all around!

Fun to play! Love the soundtrack too. I could not honk my horn though :c Haha.

Love the name and idea combo!
