Just wanted to come in here and say my jam was published today. It actually only took two days! Thank you mods

Check it out here: https://itch.io/jam/dunia-halloween-2025

If you're hosting a jam, there is one thing to definitely not do: wait till the last minute to set up your jam. Trust me, I learned the hard way.

I created a Halloween Jam just yesterday, expecting it to go live as soon as I posted it. But, as it turns out moderator review is required before the jam can go live. This actually makes a lot of sense to keep Jam quality high on the site but isn't something I was aware of. And I found out I'm not the only one.

In the discord, I saw someone from Unity trying to set up a 20th Anniversary Jam who had been waiting for a full week and hadn't yet heard back. So, here's the tip: submit your jam early! Don't wait till the last minute like I did and definitely try to create the jam at least a week before the Jam begins. Probably two weeks to be safe.

I'm still waiting to hear back about my Jam and fully expect that by the time I hear back it'll be too late. I'm still really excited about it and trying to get the word out in other ways. I'd appreciate any tips more experienced Jam Hosters can share and of course would love to invite participants. Submissions are open through my site until Sunday 11/2 at Midnight EST.

What is my site? It's called Dunia and it's a platform for a new generation of fiction. Previously, fiction was bound to be static. Once written, unchanging. Now, with generative technology, fiction can adapt to the reader and stories can evolve based on your choices. Now, it's not about fixed narratives but about worlds and characters who have depth and the ability to dynamically respond. It requires a new type of creativity and although I have some technical ability to build this platform I'm on the search for people with overflowing imaginations who can rise to the challenge of figuring out this new literary medium.

My Halloween Jam is an open call to those types of creative minds. Entering the jam is easy:
1. Visit Dunia.gg and create an account
2. Create a custom world on the platform  and playtest it (don't overthink it. making your first world should only take three minutes. play it then improve the world and iterate)
3. When you're happy with it, add [Halloween Jam 2025] to the summary and hit 'Publish'

4. Voting takes place on November 3rd and 4th in our Discord

Prizes include eternal glory, bragging rights, and three months of free premium to encourage you to keep exploring your creativity.

I wish I had gotten the word out about this earlier but it's my own fault and now I know to create the jam earlier next time.
