Hi! Thanks for commenting this :D I'm super happy to hear that you liked my game! On the note of how I pulled it off: I recently learned a lot of front-end development and I've always had a passion for art, which is not as related to the game itself but it really helps you learn beauty standards to help make good-looking UI! There's for sure some bugs I couldn't get around to fixing, and features I want to implement, but I am glad to receive overall positive feedback about it! I hope what I mentioned can help you improve as well, I'll check on your game too!
Thank you so much for your compliments! Another player actually told me that they felt the difficulty scaling is quite unbalanced at times! It's so interesting to hear from another perspective. I definitely should have but did not expect mixed opinions about these details in my game :) Your game is really good as well, thanks for playing mine :D
thank you so much for the feedback. I try my best to balance the difficulties and come up with fun levels, but the time constraints of the jam make it hard to repeatedly play test and iterate. I’m glad you enjoyed my game though! This is my first ever game jam and I’m super grateful for any comments that can help me improve.
Impressive game! don't see 3d games very often here, but it was very fun to play! Extremely impressive that you put this together in 4 days! Maybe some more human sounds recorded into the game can make the atmosphere more tense. Also there could be some consideration for adding more variety of stuff like vines, or water for slippery surfaces. Overall very astonishing you can pull it off in such a short time constraint!
Omg I can't even. This was so fun! Love the chess pieces-like movement especially and the different characters! This game was literally so well made. I am so jealous that you guys put such a strong group of people together for a team! Meanwhile I have to work solo for my game :(. Overall it was really well made, the only caveat perhaps is that it doesn't feel too challenging as most of the time the correct path is quite obvious. Still absolutely loved the game though!
This game was super cool! The art was incredible! Impressive that you guys managed to do all this without any AI to help! Very good game for how short the time limit was. I would have asked for more polished assets and UI design, but taken into the account of the short time and lack of generative AI for assistance, this game looks to be about as good as it gets! Pls try my game if you have time too :) Would help so much
This is super fun to play! I was addicted to this game. It's just sad there wasn't more :( I love the gameplay though! I don't see games like these often! I guess if you want to expand it a bit further, you can take a look at balatro and draw inspritation from there. Could add cards with special effects, economy, etc. This is basically blockblast and poker combined
It is a very solid game, but a bit unbalanced, the lasers are hard to time in the first few rounds but become super easy later on when you get used to it, perhaps scaling difficulty would help and make the first rounds easier. Also quite tedious after a few lasers. Very cool though, and I haven't seen anything like this so far! Very strong interpretation of the theme here.
One of the better games made by solo developers, which is quite impressive. I would suggest adding more states for your chracters for better directional movement as the game feels very flat right now. Also there may be some consideration for a tutorial? A bit confusing when I first started playing. Overall it was for sure better than most games I have seen so far.
Hm not completely sure about the goal of the game here. The concept seems solid but excecution could be improved. Making sure that the player knows what is happening at all times and keeping the game thrilling would be helpful. Also the atmosphere is not very scary. I'd suggest using a darker and more spooky color theme.
I like the art and the details you encorporated (such as rocks as obstacles). I do suggest making the pixel sizes of the frog and snakes identical to the grass to ensure that they look like they belong together. The map is a bit small, perhaps a very simple procedurally generated map could be useful. Furthermore, the gameplay itself is a bit bland if you consider that there isn't a whole lot to do. There is some consideration for adding other cool gadgets and powerups that can give you levels to make this almost a roguelike experience. Overall great game but needs more depth. Good job!
The pixel art lacks some cohesion, you used multiple different asset themes, which is ok, but here they don’t work very well together. I do love a good incremental game, but I do notice some things that could be improved such as the speed being the default speed when a new person is added, There could have also been a few more buttons and other features to make the game less one-dimensional. Overall, this is a great attempt though!
