Line of Death – Hobby Game Project Overview
Line of Death is an side-scrolling hack-and-slash action game with a distinct stick-figure art style, over-the-top flashy combat moves, and a wide variety of weapons. The game is designed to deliver fast-paced, high-energy battles where style matters just as much as skill. Players will be able to chain combos, execute powerful finishers, and switch between multiple weapons to adapt to different enemies and scenarios.
The visual direction combines the simplicity of stick-figure animation with the flair of anime-inspired elements—unique hairstyles, glowing effects, and dynamic weapon designs. Despite the minimalist character shapes, the goal is to make combat feel impactful through strong animation, vibrant effects, and responsive controls.
This is a hobby project I’m creating in my free time. I’m still very new to coding and game development, so this is as much a learning journey as it is a creative one. I recently lost a large part of a previous project due to an unfortunate Discord file error, which set me back quite a bit. Instead of giving up, I’ve decided to start fresh and retry my luck—this time with a more focused plan, a clear theme, and a stronger commitment to seeing the project through.
Right now, I am in the process of moving, so progress might start a little slow, but my long-term goal is to bring Line of Death to life with a small, passionate team of creative collaborators. Since programming is the one area I have covered, I am looking for help with almost every other aspect of development.
Specifically, I’m looking for:
-
Pixel Artists – for environment tiles, props, backgrounds, characters, and animations.
-
Concept Artists – to help visualize characters, weapons, and environments before they are turned into in-game assets.
-
Audio Designers/Composers – to create impactful sound effects for attacks, hits, and movement, as well as an original soundtrack to match the game’s style.
-
UI/UX Artists – for menus, HUD elements, and any stylistic interface work.
-
Visual Effects Artists – for particles, glowing effects, and other combat visuals.
Since this is a hobby project, it’s not being developed under a studio or for commercial purposes at the moment. The goal is to collaborate, have fun, and build something we can all be proud of while growing our skills and portfolios. If the project evolves to a point where it’s ready for release, everyone involved will be properly credited, and any future monetization would be discussed with the team.
If you’re a creative individual who loves fast-paced combat games, unique art styles, and bringing ideas to life, I’d be happy to have you join in making Line of Death a reality.
Hi there!
I'm currently working on a small passion project and I'm looking for a talented and creative individual to help bring a character to life. Specifically, I need a 2D character sprite along with some basic animations (such as idle, walk, and maybe one or two simple actions).
This is a personal side project, so it's a very relaxed and collaborative environment. While I’m unable to offer payment at this time, any help would be greatly appreciated, and if the project is ever released publicly, you will receive full credit for your work.
Whether you're looking to build your portfolio, get some practice, or just contribute to something fun, I’d love to hear from you!
If you're interested or have any questions, feel free to reach out. Thanks so much for your time!

Hi there! I'm Grimm,
I'm currently working on a personal passion project—an indie game that’s still in its early stages of development. I'm looking for a pixel artist who would be interested in collaborating purely for the love of making games.
Let me be completely transparent:
-
This is not a commercial project, and there is no funding or compensation involved.
-
I can’t guarantee that the project will ever be completed or released.
-
If the game does reach a playable state and is shared publicly, you will be fully credited for all of your work.
-
This is meant to be a fun, creative learning experience for everyone involved.
Right now, I’m just one person putting time into something I care about, and I’m hoping to find someone who might feel the same way. Whether you’re a beginner looking for experience or a hobbyist who enjoys making pixel art for fun, you’re more than welcome.
If this sounds like something you'd like to be a part of—or if you just want to learn more about the idea—feel free to reach out! I'd love to chat and see if we’re a good creative fit.
Thanks for reading!
