I am incredibly excited to announce that the public playtest for Just Dying is officially live! I'm a solo dev with zero patience for corporate bureaucracy, and we want to shape this game directly alongside the community with unhinged mechanics and lightning-fast patches.
What is the game about? It’s a fast-paced 2D survivor roguelite starring peculiar streamers. You must fight through hordes of everything content creators hate. Rescue your followers to stay off the unemployment line, unlock unique characters with their own scaling rules, and become a wrecking ball of total chaos. Learn. Die. Repeat.
Core Mechanics You Can Test:
- A Degenerate Arsenal: 16+ Weapons with rarity tiers (from the Admin's Torch to the Void Crows) and 30+ Runes for absolutely broken builds like Toxic Chat or Ban Hammer.
- The Atlas (Greed vs. Difficulty): A massive passive tree where every point spent breaks your future runs, but automatically raises the global difficulty. Pick your poison.
- True Boss Encounters: No simple damage-sponges. Expect telegraphed mechanics and real patterns where movement and skill actually matter.
Why we need you: Before our official demo drops during the Steam Next Fest (June 15 - June 22), we need to stress-test the structural balance. We want your raw feedback on the Atlas scaling, the rune synergies, and the overall difficulty curve.
