This is actually a huge compliment.  Game Jam fatigue is real!  Thanks for playing it through dude!

Always gotta give a shoutout when someone mentions the mechanic in ref to Pokemon.  That was exactly the inspiration.

I see another celeste fan in the chat.  Will be playing tonight for sure.

Don’t you do it!!!!

IGN hire this man right NOW.

would you mind describing a bit more what happened so we can try to recreate it to patch later?  You are the first to report this bug!  Thanks for playing regardless.

The slide into backflip has got to be my favorite move in the player's moveset.  The section on level 2 (green?) I think where there is a forcefield that shoots you up high leads you to believe that you can jump-slide into an area that is reached later via the gravity change mechanic, I tried to get in there for so long I had to redo the level to save my score.  Regardless, the player character controls effortlessly, I turned my mouse sensitivity down to give myself some more precision on shooting all the targets.  I really enjoyed playing this entry to completion, I wanted to chain together so many slides and flips with grapples to make really stylish clears of the levels.  Check these skills, nothing but straight As in this household.

Finally got around to playing your game, the power creep is so great in this game, the hardest part for me is the initial starting out phase as you have a dinky punch, it's super hard to get good combos going until you have a big enough punch and a big enough goblin pool to knock around.  I loved the audio design of the incrementally higher tones per mult addition.  Great work, thanks for submitting this game!

I'm glad there are other people who get the reference!!!  This is exactly the inspiration for the game, myself and the other developer grew up playing the Gold/Silver generation games together.  Thanks for playing!

Gotta say how great this was to play.  Great work on this jam, I really enjoyed myself.

Excellent.  Give me more, you turned this up to 11.  It's a tried and true style of game and you just cranked it up.

Dude!! You gotta release the soundtrack to this game.  Very cool idea and I noticed no latency issues as you stated.

Joseph, our composer went absolutely crazy

biggest compliment

Someone else here is a cowboy bebop fan I see!  Cool entry with a unique movement mechanic.  Thanks for submitting!

What can I say, great game.  At it's best I was flying at 400 speed chaining near misses and sick airshots at the flying bots, hitting a pole, and having to send it back down the hill all again.  Bravo, truly!

Holy music!  The music was fantastic on both the start menu and in the runner section.  I wish I could survive longer to keep bumping that track.  The background and spritework were also excellent.  A great central theme.  Good job team.

NEEEED that homing block, that thing did WORK!  Great submission your UI work was excellent.  Truly enjoyed playing.  Check that score!!

I like the music and the artwork for sure!  I found the mechanic really unforgiving and got stuck on this screen.  Those moving papayas are so difficult to get!  Thanks for submitting and glad I got to play it.

Once I figured out how the isometric controls worked for movement I was able to do a lot better, I could only max out at two stars on the first couple levels.  Recognize!!

Thanks a lot for playing and checking it out!!  Maybe try level 3 again and take a closer look around the level.  You might find your way :)

Thank you!

Thank you!

Hey; sorry I forgot to add the repo in the description, thanks for catching that, its amended now!

Hypee!!!!

Hello itch.io community,

link to game https://jpgfg.itch.io/slingstar

My name is JP and before I say anything else this is my first try at a full “releaseable” game.  What I have is a small demo that showcases some of the directions I am moving in with this “prototype plus” demo.  The game is based around interstellar travel at the macro level, at the micro level it’s more like a gravity based mini golf.  I am looking for any feedback on music, feel, atmosphere, and overall fun factor of the levels provided in the demo.

I understand that things are unfinished and there are some “developer shortcuts” included in the demo, but I would love to get a baseline pulse for where this project is at and how you all feel about it when you play.  It is short and shouldn’t take more that 5-10 minutes to complete all 6 included levels.

Thanks again if you took the time to check it out.  I will gladly take all input and criticism toward this project.  Thanks again.
