OH the rotation is like that because having it actually centered made it so for some reason the way you were facing and the way you were moving just. werent the same??? idk why its like that but i used a kind of bandaid fix for it.
a better fix would probably be using some complex code to change the sprite and hitbox positions so that it can turn around the center and still move in the right direction.
I liked this game alot! Pretty much an across the board 5 stars for me. My only thought is just I wish there was like, an endless mode or something where I could play for longer on a single run XXXD adding this one to my favs!!! The music is calming the artstyle is beautiful and the gameplay is creative and fun!!!
This whole thing really reminds me of Oneshot! [which is a high compliment to be clear]. I got stuck for a while because i didnt realize a door was a door, but it was a lot of fun and I love the story!!!
Note: IIRC this is also, as of writing, the only game out of 34 ive rated that ive felt compelled to give 5 stars across the board!!!
AAAAAAAAA I'm so glad that got across properly!!! I was originally going to put a checkpoint there but decided it would mess with the tension too much, so instead I had this little pocket of air about halfway so you could catch your breath and have a good ol thinkin about what to do next. I didnt actually anticipate the extra tension from having to go back down, since in my runs I always just stayed there for a split second, given I know the full level layout.
Also fun fact the diver's sprites were literally the first thing to ever get made for the game. originally it was like an old diving suit and you can still see relics of that in the weird gray bits on the head. Now its more an astronaut type deal.
Thanks!!! I made the oxygen like that because each level is an individual sprite with the unique colors and all. There was actually originally going to be background music but I decided I liked the high tension gameplay with just the ambient breathing more, and then the map was just designed with the idea in mind of "Let's make a map where there's lots of opportunities for risk and reward to cut down your time" because I liked the idea of having the speedrun potential for the map, so its very intentionally possible to go real fast!!!
