Oh, but I definitely want to know more about that! I have a weekly live Playdate in French on Twitch. Want to send me a private message on your social media platform of choice? (Instagram, Bluesky, or any other that suits you on my Linktree : https://linktr.ee/johndostudio )
Hello, I had the chance to test your game on one of my French-language Playdate livestreams, and I loved it!
It works really well, and I was worried it might be monotonous in terms of gameplay, but the levels with the “alternate gameplay” and the progression curve are very well managed!
I didn't show everything in the game during the livestream, as I still have the last level at 2,000 points to unlock, but I'll try to do that before next week's livestream. Good luck with your development on Playdate ;) .
Thanks, the stream will take place tonight at 7:40 p.m. French time, but I'll leave the replay on Twitch for two weeks, and by Wednesday it will be on my YouTube channel for eternity! (It sounds scary when you put it like that ^^)
Great game, I just discovered it and I've already completed the classic levels! I wanted to continue the experience with some modifications to the game, and while I can modify the wall sprites, for example, I can't modify the enemies...
I just tried to color their faces black, keeping the image characteristics (as I did for the wall files), but it's impossible. The sprites that are displayed are still the original ones, even though they are no longer present in my assets and have been replaced by my own.
Am I missing a step? I don't have access to the itch files because I bought the game on the Playdate store. Maybe the answer is in the zip file, I don't know...
Congratulations, the atmosphere and production of this game are really beautiful! I hope the Homebrew Factory campaign is a success!
A question purely about Gb Studio: on the level I've screen, how is it possible to create a parallax effect in the background while keeping the bubbles in the foreground ‘fixed’? I think this is the first time I've seen this! Is there perhaps a plug-in that I don't know about?
Well done also for the references, such as Pizza Rat ^^
Very impressive for a game created with Pulp! I was really taken in by the atmosphere and the game mechanics.
However, I'm in the ship (towards the end?), with the 4 switches and the two ladders, I've got the access card, I've got a code to enter on one of the accesses, but I can't figure out what to do... I'm stuck, but maybe that's because my English isn't good enough, as I'm French ^^.
Really impressive! even to the point of producing a manual and some great artworks! I loved all the tests and their Game Boy visions, it's very well transcribed. I do one live per week on Game Boy homebrew, and I'd love to do one on yours, I've already got the next 3 weeks scheduled with games, but I think I'll do it before the end of July if you've got networks or anything else you'd like me to put forward don't hesitate to let me know :)
Thank you so much for this dreamlike journey, the use of game nboy printer prints is greatly appreciated! I don't know the original RPG at all, but I'm sure this homebrew is a nice tribute to it!
A question about the snow animation in the temple scene, is it handled via a pluggin, tile swapping, color swapping? I can't figure out how it can look so good :)
I hope the project will be 100% financed via homebrew factory to see a physical version, the game deserves it!
