Since feedback was encouraged here are a few thoughts after clearing the first level:
- Background music is cool and adds a lot of energy to the game but sliders to decrease its volume or turn it off would be appreciated (especially after getting stuck on a level for a while)
- I really liked how some mechanic knowledge from OOP carried over into helping in this game and I hope we see some more like that.
-When doing actions like distracting the gawkers I think it would be cool if the first-person model moved alongside the picture-view because currently I think it's only in the picture view
-Loved the plant encounter and I think the art style is great. Very consistent with the DrWahee OOP game art but unique in a good way.
- Clicking on the map too fast sometimes softlocks the game requiring returning to the menu and restarting the level. Also somehow clicking too fast/skipping animations can lead to skipping entire rooms!
(SPOILERS/ solution comments)
- I managed to figure out how to get all the items and to the final boss on my own but I found the final solution requiring EXACT timing of the blueberry juice a bit too arbitrary. For a few reasons:
1) From OOP we know that skeletons are weak to butt expansion potions but here the choice of red/blue potion had no effect when it could have been an alternate way to defeat the skeletons after getting the lactating bell? That would allow milking the kraken like in OOP
2) The timing of the blueberry juice which was given in the hint as "at the ice elemental" is annoying since it worked on my second attempt after reading the hint but on my first attempt after reading I reached the game over screen (due to overexpanding with the juice) after the skeletons and before reaching the miniboss. Might have been because I was clicking through too fast?
All in all, a very fun proof of concept with a lot of potential! I hope we get some more creative transformations that we haven't seen before in OOP but I'll leave that to you since it'll take some creativity to beat the fun ones we had in that game. Looking forward to more!
This is a great review and you echo almost all my sentiments with this project! I also wished for futanari and asked about it during development (when were still getting new weeks with new kinks) but Coder Guy was very clear then as he is in the reply to you that it's not his thing. This is still a great experience both in gameplay/story/writing and I hope he makes more :)
I know it's been ages since you've asked but I've just discovered that the Steam in the region of my steam account (Germany) has a complete ban on all NSFW games! That's quite incredible and not what I expected from Germany but apparently it's due to EU regulation. So I believe no German steam users would have access to OPP unless they purchase steamkeys through third-party websites.
A few comments about the Queen Minigame:
First of all even though it's still in development I think this worship minigame + the queen model is some of the best (hottest) content in the game so far. It took me a while to figure out the mechanics but it helped to think of it as "shifting gears" whenever the queen pleasure meter started to slow down. To people struggling: You should only turn on an effort when the queen pleasure starts slowing down or right before then when you expect it.
It's a bit buggy though as if you fail at any stage after stage 1 trying to restart will have the animation stuck at the stage you stopped at and it won't progress. Going back to camping and resting till morning fixed it for me. I hope we get more queen models and evolutions to the worship minigame!
All these changes sound great! I'm about to check for myself but I'm hoping the queens have guaranteed high stats in all the important places
EDIT: For the character creator I think it would be useful to have a "reset to defaults" button for each adjustable stat since it's pretty easy to mess some colors up without having a way back .
EDIT 2: The "unstuck" button helps a lot to avoid that annoying infinite loop scenario when they're maxed out but keep going
I can't seem to find your new Patreon when I search for "screwthename" , what name is it listed under? EDIT: Found it in the linktree on X, it's called "Screw's Hideout" (https://www.patreon.com/cw/ScrewsHideout)
Congratulations on the Steam release! The whole development process has been extremely transparent, well-communicated and more than fair (price-wise). I enjoyed the ride and the updates from Week 3 until the end. Great job and good luck with whatever you do next and/or a well-deserved break!
EDIT: Strangely the game doesn't appear at all on my main Steam account (I wishlisted on an alt account) . I scrolled through all the new releases from the past 3 days and even searched "One Potion Please" directly but nothing appeared. I made sure that my content filters were off so I'm not sure what's causing this but hopefully it's not some kind of hidden blacklisting.
Trying to find the cricket is driving me insane, I'll update this comment with a tip if I find it.
Also, I saw you mentioned the inability to add a cursor update over interactables in your gamejame post but it really makes everything a lot harder _:)
EDIT TIP: Within view of the witch's hut, check grass
This new update (0.5) is already great, love the button popping VFX and I think I stumbled on some of the new CGs on my way to the new rooms (Nymfoe grab, RFID POV room). The artists you collaborate with are fantastic and your writing and level design makes it even better. Keep it up and we're looking forward to more!
I'd be very happy to pay for a full version as this is already easily one of my favorite games on the site
Okay I'm many hours in to the main plot of the game now and plot SPOILER WARNING (for both this game and Expedition 33):
This game has been getting updates for 5+ years so I think it's safe to say the main plot has been set in stone for a while. Am I the only one who thinks that the Lel/Ellie and Kayden/Jared reveal is SO SIMILAR to the Maelle/Alicia and Verso/Verso reveal in Expedition 33?! It's actually crazy how similar the concept is but this shows that this game's plot is well-done because a big part of Expedition 33's hype is it's big story reveals and this has a very similar energy.
I'm sure you've already got a lot of comments explaining the reason for difficulty and that would have to be the timing, it's SO tight. I managed to beat her within 3 tries after figuring out the mechanic but I think it may be more fun/easy if the distance required was a bit wider like a previous comment suggested. Still a fun addition to the game for sure!
Great work from both the artists and the coder! The steadily growing sprite is always great and I didn't mind the variety of artists in the CGs. Also after getting to the end of the demo and unlocking the dev notes I can tell the creator is really passionate and put a lot of thought into this game. Best of luck to you!
