Solid game for only 48 hours. I didn't know what really happened with the story, but the walking made it so painful to decide if I should backtrack or not. I wish there was a feature to make all the dialogue appear at once too. Really almost couldn't make it past the spider, I thought I had to sneak up behind him before going down. But the atmosphere of the game was well done.
Legit the best I've played in the jam so far! Insane work guys, this game is very well polished and I really liked the idea of it! I wish it got more eyes because it's great! The models and assets for the game look really put together and visual indicators for each different part is really cool. As well as the spore-like team builder setup. The only issues I have are for the turn UI when there are 5+ enemy dinos, the UI covers the health remaining of your dinos. That and the music being a little flat and the turns taking a little too long. I also wasn't able to defeat the long neck dino at the end but I tried my best to min/max it!
All in all an incredible submission, you guys should be super proud, you can easily turn this into a basic game with some story if you worked at it, you've already got a terrific base!
I could only get the first puzzle for the follower by brute forcing and couldn't navigate the rooms. But I really loved the aesthetic of the game, you guys did a really good job with the music, art and even have voice acting which is really neat! I like how we were given a notebook I just doodled in it but that's also a really neat addition. Good job y'all!
As others have stated the game starts slow, but after buying a couple glide upgrades and a speed upgrade I could just float over the level and still get points and that was a fun game loop. But after trying to do the levels again the wheel would break and I didn't know why. I was never able to see the other wheel :(
I love the art, music and lighting. But I am totally lost on the gameplay. At first the game was fun and introduced mechanics in a bit by bit manner. But later on I needed to trial by fire die to realize the spike placement because they didn't have the symbol above them. I really liked the game but felt like it was way too hard and complex with all the symbols I didn't know what they all meant. I got to 200 deaths and couldn't make it much further after the night level door puzzle.
Loved the art, music and fish encyclopedia! The animations were cute too, the main thing that I struggled with was the sound effect for fish on because I was taken out the first time I caught something. I also felt that it was hard to detect a change from the powerups and that made the progression a little harder. But Overall I like the aesthetic the most!
I enjoyed this one. Although there are some bugs, I liked the idea of the game a lot. I thought the magic system was super complex though. I hadn't gotten to see a lot of the spells, but there were some fun ones with synergies that I got. I found the item spawning was a little bugged or just interesting since there were artifacts everywhere but I didn't know what to do with them. I think that the tutorial spells weren't unlocked on the player yet because I didn't have any spells during the tutorial and couldn't cast them. But when I found some in the wild it was very fun to use them. I also enjoyed the writing and cracked up at the subsidiary line. Overall solid with both art and even with it's bugs, they added charm to the experience!
Firstly ain't no way we got a jojo's reference in the 48 hour jam. 2ndly this is pretty sweet! In a crunch this game was made pretty well, good mechanics and movement. Sometimes the tether wouldn't work but it let you chain some very satisfyingly fast moves. I enjoyed the art, music and mechanics although the map made me feel a little lost but overall I had fun and finished with all 4 coins!
For your first game this is some good work, while I saw your comment that you had no game testers I am with you on that. For me the controls were hard to acclimate to because I am used to using space as jump and if I use e to swap I can't move right. But overall the idea of the game was implemented well and solid. The last level was tough for me, I think I cheesed it but it was a great intro to game dev, especially in a 48 hour time frame.
