Go originates from China but Gomoku originates from Japan during the Edo period. The word "Gomoku" is Japanese, which means "five pieces line-up". Gomoku uses the same equipment as Go but is a different game entirely.
It plays as well as I expected but it doesn't display properly on my 5:4 monitor. The picture is low down and the second line of text is inside the game area on the first screen, then becomes obscured by the game from the second screen onward.
