Howdy!

It's been a minute since we've posted on here, but we're currently seeking rates for one or multiple video editors that can help us with high-engagement, shortform content.

Currently, we have multiple hours of gameplay footage and commentary that we need to edit into 10-15m highlight videos while also being able to produce several ~1m shorts from the most entertaining/engaging clips from the highlight videos. We're looking for someone experienced with video editing software like Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve and has a similar taste in humor to our own (or at least knows how to emulate it for the sake of the project). This will be a paid, one-time contract with you also being credited on our YouTube channel. It is also important to note that this will be a project with a fairly quick turnaround (about a week per 1 video + 5 shorts taken from the video, all taken from about an hour of raw gameplay footage + commentary) and that there will be different format and editing requirements between the 10-15m video and the shorts. (16:9 v 9:16, etc.)

If you're interested, or would like to know more information, please reach out to us via our email: jeez.podcasts@gmail.com or give us your email in the comments below and we'll reach out to you. IN YOUR EMAIL PLEASE INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

  • RATE (per Deliverable) BASED ON THE INFORMATION PROVIDED - You may alternatively include an hourly rate, along with your estimated worktime for the deliverables as described above.
  • EXAMPLES OF YOUR WORK - Don't stress if you feel you have a lacking portfolio, show us what you have! This is to help us know the kind of work you are capable of right now.
  • EXAMPLES OF CONTENT YOU ENJOY OR THAT INSPIRES YOU - This is help us know your interests and gives us some content we can directly reference when asking about/for specific edits.

If you like working with us, and we similarly like your work, we'll be open to hiring you on for additional jobs of the same capacity/turnaround time.

Received and responded to your email! Thank you again for your interest!

Howdy!

Joseph here, with JEEZ! At the beginning of this month we launched an alpha build of our game Rattle: The Gilded Cage as a playable demo here on Itch. On the 16th, we did the same for Ace Detective. I'm ecstatic with how the demos turned out and am excited to continue working on them as we get more feedback... However, JEEZ! still has two more digital demos planned to launch this year and I think it's in our best interest to look into expanding our team where possible. We don't want a dev (in any position) to feel stretched too thin while we build up a catalogue of ideas.

For some additional context, we're currently an active team of four (an artist, a programmer,  an experienced solo dev well versed in both aforementioned positions, and myself as project director) with a handful of devoted playtesters. Our plan is to launch at least four game demos this year, all of which ideas our team has been wanting to realize for a while now, but also with the hope that at least one of them will get enough attention and feedback to catapult us into a position of legitimacy where we can pitch the idea to a publisher or pursue a crowdfunding method.

Why multiple demos and not just focus on one idea? While I subscribe to the sentiment that you should make the game you want to make (and do so to the best of your ability), JEEZ!'s purpose is to be a place where we can test out a variety of ideas to not only see which ones work the best, but also take a stab at getting them turned into real projects. This is not to say we won't be turning the demos we have released (as well as the ones we plan to) into full games, but that we believe there is a better chance at a viable, funded, product if we can present as many ideas that we feel are worth presenting to the public and then take feedback before narrowing our focus.

JEEZ! is intended to be a place where creatives can come together to hone their skills, produce amazing products in the process, and hopefully jumpstart their careers if an idea takes off. We're looking for creatives that see the value in a place like JEEZ! and are ready to put their skills to the test. At this time, we're not able to provide any financial compensation for team members, but utilize contracts to ensure that IF a project gets to a position where funding or revenue is available, everyone gets paid for their time and efforts.  I understand how this might be a red flag to most, but at its core JEEZ! is a passion project that cannot promise what it doesn't have.

Currently our other two demos in the pipeline are a "zen" restaurant management game akin to Galaxy Burger and Goblin Sushi and a property management game somewhere between Fortune Street (Itadaki Street) and 100% Orange Juice. If either of these projects sound like something you'd like to be a part of, or you have ideas of your own that you'd love to work on with a team after these demos are released, leave a reply on this post or reach out to use directly at jeez.podcasts@gmail.com. I'll be happy to answer any questions regarding the team and its projects via that email, if you're interested but not entirely sure if this kind of team is for you. Thank you!

Thank you so much for your feedback! We're taking all of these into consideration for our next update so please keep an eye out for that and let us know how you feel once its posted.
