I just finished today's Dordle and can confirm that the April 1st game didn't count towards streaks and statistics. So don't worry about having lost.

I checked dictionary.com for it and it wasn't found. That site draws from Webster, so.

And before anyone starts: after failing I input the word into dictionary.com and it was not recognised. When the word you're using is in neither the OED nor Websters, you're doing it wrong.
