From what I've gathered:
- You spend swords to attack enemies. Attacking with no sword uses a heart
- digging uses a spade. digging with no spade uses a heart.
- Diamonds act as money you can use in the shopping area

- Hearts are your HP. Hit 0 and you die.

Interesting game but REALLY needs a tutorial of some kind
