if I had had more time (and more game dev knowledge) I would have implemeted something that actually indicated a 30 second time limit haha
Cheers for playing mate :)
Fun little memory game! Really enjoyed it!
I felt the sprint button a little unnesassaary and that i could just walk through each level to completely nullify the eyeball enemy. But aside from that, very good.
Addicting gameplay, could have done that infinatly to see how good my memory is haha
If you have the time, I would appreciate it if you checked out my game as well: GROUNDHOG SLAY
I'll be honest, I was coding frantically to get the gameplay done and completely screwed it so that it was really difficult to get a music track when the game was happeneing weirdly enough haha
Can you let me know what you would change balancing wise as I may expand on this game post jam :)
Cheers for playing pal!
Hey mate! Great job with the nice relaxing platformer. The bos pushing elements were a nice touch, but i somehow managed to beat the game without really knowing how haha
One of my boxes fell off of the map and then i just kinda won? Maybe i didnt make it far enough into the game to figure out where the win state was, but i lucked my way into it on the 3rd room with the ice sheet.
Nice controls, although it can feel a little slidy on the edges of the platforms.
One bug i noticed is that after i died, i couldnt respawn into the game. And when i went back to the main menu to play again, i would be spawned in but not able to move, so would have to exit out of the whole game and reload if i wanted to play again. Not sure if you're keeping a list of bugs or plan on working on this more, but thought id mention :)
Good job pal!
Great jon on your first ever completed game!
The art for me is the standout feature, i love the look of the gameworld and the things in it! Great use of pixel art.
My main issue is that the movement speed is sooo slow. I'm not sure if you've made the player and enemy movement frame rate dependant, but if not i think the base movement speed of the enemies and the player should be way faster, then upgrades at the shop for movement speed would feel less like a necassity, and more like a choice of what to spend your hard earned money on.
Still a great submission! You should be proud of making something that looks this good that is actually playable in such a short amount of time!
Thanks for that! I haven't tried "That Level Again", but now i will defiantly be giving it a go to see how i could have made my game better haha
Honestly, I think i may have just left the "loop" button unchecked for all the menu music except for the upgrade menu, but i havent actually had a chance to replay and test since i submitted (been a little busy, but will be playing more games and submitting feedback when i get home from work)!
Thanks for your kind words mate, i appreciate your feedback and letting me know about the bug!
All the best <3
cheers for the kind words mate! Melting the enemies with a lazer beam or a massive ground pound explosion is super fun :)
if i had had more time to work on it (had to submit the game a day early) i could have done a few more levels where the difficulty gets ramped up.
in my initial idea for the game i thought that i would reset the players score to 0 if they died in a level. had my partner test it and they thought it was too punishing so i toned down the difficulty a little bit.
im glad you enjoyed it mate! once i get off work i will give your game a go!
much love mate <3
