Really cool game, quite a bit of strategy involved, fun visuals, high chance of coming in top 100, good job

Spamming P is an option I used to win almost every fight
But what I really like is how the enemy behaves. I had a few times where they constantly darted around, leading to them flanking me and getting hits from behind. That was a nice way to create dynamic moments.
But it was very blurry for me, that could be just me tho
Hello All
I plan to play as many games as I can and rate them
But I'm also an avid Twitter / BlueSky user and content creator in the Game Dev space. So if I see anything that I think is quite nice, such as a cool way to make a simple mechanic more interesting, then I'll create a tweet about it (sometimes even going into threads about how this effects player psychology)
I can only play browser games due to my current hardware, but if you want me to review and possibly tweet about your gamejam game then drop the link below
Any reviews of my game will also be appreciated
The shark coming in randomly from the side, and it's movement path being a bit diagonal and shifting, was genius. A great way to add lanes you have to watch out for, and taking the players attention away from easier obstacles
I've created a Twitter post about it cause I think it's an easy but great way to add difficulty to simple mechanics
So this was a test for a feature I'm adding into my long term project, have already added flashes when hit, and currently working on stamina bars, but everything else is roughly the same. I think this style of combat will be easy to set up and tweak for different bosses throughout my story so I'm working on getting it perfect as it'll likely be the emotional climax of my game too

Thank you for your feedback. This was a kinda demo for a feature I wanted to add into my first commercial game (using gamejams to test features in the field has been insane lol), and the feedback has been useful. I have now added flashes for hits, and working on stamina bars for both characters (funnily enough, due to how I've written my attack script, you can't attack OR block if you have no stamina, which was a happy accident)
Really cool how you've changed the enemies to all be different, the massive grey ones scared me. The power ups are good,. My only downside is there doesn't seem like an incentive to die, I can play the game like a shooter and if I die then it's a bonus, but I never felt like I needed to get myself killed to progress. Maybe if there were specific rounds such as 1 grey guy who you needed x powerup for, and this was visualised somehow, that would add to the effect.
Also i love how the instructions are on the wall in front of spawn. Thats sweet
If there is more than a tutorial then I'll delete this video and redo it
I enjoyed the experience, the switching mechanic feels good. I would have liked to see a bit more, and a little story (even just some funny text on screen for why you're in jail) would have gone a long way, but everything works and feels good to play
Hello all
I am very active within the Game Dev community on Twitter (@jambuckett) and plan to play several games while create content around them. This is in an effort to grow my own accounts, provide game dev analysis, grow as a developer myself, and to promote your own brand / games. I may also do the same for my Tik Tok / Instagram (same name) as this will be content of interest to my followers and help me grow there.
If you're interested in me creating content around your game then please reply to this with the link. I will be playing as many games as I can over the rating period anyways, but this is also a networking thing so will be good to get to know some people
Great advice, I'll add another one that I always forget:
If your game is playable in browser, then make sure to set up the window settings beforehand, otherwise it can looks really weird when played by players.
ALSO, if there is any bugs or weirdness you wasn't able to deal with, make a note of them in the bio of your game. Players can forgive a lot more than you think, so as long as you make them aware of some issues, you'll be fine
