Ohh, that's interesting. I fixed something similar for the upcoming patch (1.1.5), but surprised to see it happen outside of custom levels.

Thanks for reporting! Does this happen in all display modes, including Windowed?

There aren't any plans for this currently, but I'm not saying never. It would be a  technical challenge, and I'm also a bit scared of the mobile market and its reliance on advertising for both funding and exposure. So it's lower on the list of priorities for post-launch development.

What issue are you having? Does it crash on startup or do you just have framerate stutters in game? If it's the latter, you can try lowering the graphics settings. Particularly the resolution scale, anti-aliasing, and shadow quality should make it perform better.

I'm on a break now and have some thoughts. The fundamental issue is that the game is failing to write to the following location:
<.app file>/Contents/UE/GentooRescue/Players

A couple of things to try:

  • Make sure the downloaded GentooRescue-Mac-Shipping.app package is in a writable location. Maybe the user home directory?
  • Double check the permissions of all directories on this path. They should be writable.
  • If all else fails, running the application with elevated write privileges should work. But this shouldn't be necessary.

Please feel free to reach out to me on Discord, either by joining the Gentoo Rescue server (https://discord.gg/Z6C37GCu5H) or messaging me directly (Jagriff).

Sorry! This is probably some permission thing that isn't an issue with Steam for some reason. I'll look into this as soon as I get free from work today.

Similar to what you did in the first half of this room, but combine it with jump.

The game supports custom binds. An alternative default for arrow key users would be nice, but it's one of those things I don't want to be spoiled by an accidental press.

I randomly stumbled onto this game. It's great!

I love the final sequence! So many subtle pitfalls to figure out, in addition to the main trick.

Very addicting! It took me a while to break 300.
