I'm on a break now and have some thoughts. The fundamental issue is that the game is failing to write to the following location:
<.app file>/Contents/UE/GentooRescue/Players
A couple of things to try:
- Make sure the downloaded GentooRescue-Mac-Shipping.app package is in a writable location. Maybe the user home directory?
- Double check the permissions of all directories on this path. They should be writable.
- If all else fails, running the application with elevated write privileges should work. But this shouldn't be necessary.
