I mean it’s quite a simple and direct game. The prediction should not take this long. I was here for solid 5 mins until I got a response which is quite a lot for just a yes or no. If it too loke 30 seconds, it would be much more enjoyable. Sound and visual feedback is missing. If the card trick was exaggerated by effects, sound and animation it would be much better.

Its missing juice and a lot of it. And it’s too long for a single response.

It’s a good concept but not well executed, yet.

I reviewed the game. Its quite early for me to review. Its super early in prototype.

Ill check it out

Hmm.

A lot of things bother me.

Enemies move in decimal values (float, if you know what I mean) but the player can only look with the same movement key. This is a not a good design because this gives them move fluid movement. It will cause a lot of balancing issues.

The enemies spawn the same place where the player initially spawns. In some places enemies might get stuck to player as well. Also, you can never tell if enemies are spawning or not.

Player damage feedback is missing. It’s a crucial element.

In its current state its not good. Feedback elements are missing, cant predict enemies or prepare for it. Sounds are lacking, some design choices are questionable.

Cant say its a good game but cant say its bad either. I guess my review is too early but hope this can help.

I left my reviews in your game page comments. Hope it helps as I was confused at times because of my lack of experience in this genre.

This is a great game. I dont play puzzle games a lot of im unexperienced when it comes to this game.

Never have I ever seen an open world puzzle game XD Unique and nice to see

I do think the world is a bit too bright so it’s a pain to see but the space shift is a clean mechanic, adds a lot more to the world and puzzle opportunities.

Only problem with this is direction on what to do and where to go. You usually play puzzles in a sequence and never lose your rhythm. Here the open world is its flaw kind of because you can lose your rhythm easily. Now this can be an unexperienced player thing as I don’t play a lot of games in this genre.

The bright and dark combo is great mechanic wise but the lack of colors is kind of making it dull for me visually as in many cases u would be staring at the white. Dark is not that bad.

The visual feedback is great. Am confused about the choice of screen size. Why is it in a square aspect ratio? Could it be you are trying to imitate the early 2000s or late 90s square TVs/handheld consoles? Maybe.

It’s a great game but hard to judge for me.

Your game is cool! S tier for sound design and music, A tier Game design, C- tier for UI. You might have to look into UI design. A tier for VFX.

The Player animation is simple; I’d rather not have it and keep it static like the other enemies which is more consistent. Player feedback is missing like camera shake. Its basic but does a lot and makes it feel responsive.

I think there should be a life system because things can get difficult later on and a full reset becomes annoying since your playing it for the first time and dont know what to expect or a checkpoint system.

UI does make it look cheap otherwise this is a really fun and polished game. There is a lot of HUD elements which I think are unnecessary because you dont need all of that to keep track of the game so a minimum hud would really favor it.

I can see this being a good steam release. It has potential. Btw no comments on, on your game page.

Guys! I may not be very active on itch nowadays because the GMTK Jam is now over and i rarely participate because of how busy my life is currently. Because I opened this post I will do my best to play test whenever I can. I daily drive Linux and have windows on another drive so when I switch to it ill play those games. I do apologies as i didnt know it would last this long.

Dont worry u can still upload your games. Ill play it whenever I can and I hope the community can back me up and play your games as well.

Thank you! I could have made this more polished but got too tired on the last day. Windows version would have been a bit smoother which i also forgot to upload but I’m happy to see people have positive reviews about this. But do tell if there are things u thing could have been better (narrative sucks).

Thank you!

Thanks for reviewing my game! It game me good insight for the future. Ill definitely be coming back to you for my future project. Though I am not active normally.

Im not Brazilian though

Ive been looking for this type if feedback.

I completely forgot to upload the windows version which may have been better in overall smoothness of the game and sensitivity too. The files adding to the timer was a last minute call literally.

In this jam i worked on my weaknesses which took a lot of time (lighting and map generator). It did needed more polish which i had plans for and should have worked on it first but i quit a few hours early because i was super fatigued from working late night.

The narrative is a mess because it was supposed to be something else but went through multiple changes to become, well, this.

This is an amazing game! Made in 4 days? I don’t know how you managed to it but its super well made! The audio is consistent with the art and the vibe, it just matches everything quite well.

I am impressed how such a simple accounting game can have soo much juice and content which most of the games even mine don’t have. It also had a narrative even though the ending, I expected something to happen than just a promotion but still it was enough to have the player engaged.

Though I was about to quit because I thought that was it when starting out but slowly we had more upgrades, mechanics, spells and somewhat of a boss sequence.

It also works on every platform too. and any resolution too which is a great thing to have if u want broad engagement. Super fun game!

I am a bit sad that it has such little ratings. More people should know about this. This deserves more!

Sure ill give it a try

Yea, my web version also has some issues. I assume games made directly for web work better.

Yes that was the plan. Variation and better narrative as its super mixed on why the files are there in the first place. Sadly due to a bit over designing and burnout I slowed down a lot at the end and could add the amount of polish and fixes i needed even though I could have. Dont know if ill make it a full game though but maybe. Thank you for the feedback! Ill definitely improve upon this.

Its a great concept! The switching ability and how it works is creative and has its own attacks which motivates you to switch and if u dont the time crunch will which is great balancing. I didnt use the slow time mechanic much but its a good addition. Though I think in terms of visual feedback it could some juice. And movement animation didnt seem to work or wasnt present but other than that its a great game.

Yes, i accidentally put a bit of a higher speed value which is on me. I planned to upload a windows build which would have fixed the smoothness and collision issues. Graphics are not how I planned it to be but thanks for the feedback!

Hmm, the mechanic works fine. I assume its how you hit it. Running around and Shift to dash on the door or just punch the door 3 times and it will break.

Its a good concept just needs bit more time in the oven. Its creative and simple. Just wish the balance between jumping and shooting was better because mainly I would just jump to not lose time. Some motivation for using the shoot like a special enemy would have made it better but overall its a good game. Just needs some time baking.

Nothing bad to say here, except that dum malware kept blocking my keyboard! I would have hacked his PC if I could IRL >:( Overall such a polished game and really creative. Artstyle and song really everything just mixes up well. I can see this as a steam release if more content is added.

It did and well executed for the time it had. I can definitely see this as a game on steam if put in a bit more content and little bit of polish.

Reminds me of flash games. They were so much fun. This is a great concept. It is creative just not well executed. The web version is a bit bugged but that’s ok. Should have made the player a bit faster since it felt like a fast paced game. Corner camping for the money was funny. Its a good game just needed more time in the oven for sure.

literally just camped there XD

Thank you :) Same to you

I would love to but my life has got really busy recently. I got an internship, workout and other skills I wish to target which may take away time from game development for this year and maybe the upcoming one as well. Discord: msameedc

Ah, I’m in that too. Don’t know if ill make a game for that Jam because of my busy life but I hope to see u there. GMTK is usually where I participate others I don’t mainly because of time. But brackey’s is also a big Jam so I hope I can be there.

Thank you! But why review my last years submission?

Ah, I noticed now! It is a 3 second timer on top, I see. Quite simple implementation but if there was a time crunch it would have been better since it adds up to the pressure. But regardless a really good effort and I hope to see where this game goes. Its in a really good state.

Thank you! You can change the sensitivity in the settings. Sadly I completely forgot to upload the windows version which would have been a smoother experience.

Super polished! Simple but has great features and variations of enemies and amazing feedback. Great game!

My only complain would be its relevance with the theme. Countdown, I would assume there would be some aspect of time shortage doing something but I didn’t notice anything. The timer and the freeze time are present but that’s not a countdown.

Don’t take my words negatively! This game has good potential and can be published. I loved it! But don’t see the aspect of Countdown.

You might have to elaborate on that, but I assume it is how the files are placed which I did plan to improve but because I was super drained from working late at night I slowed down and couldn’t improve the the spawning aspect.

I love FPS games and this one is no exception really well made. I did find the implementation of the countdown theme to be rather too simple. But the model animations, gunplay and enemies are solid. Audio is super good and the vibe is just like COD Zombies. Great game!

Thank you! I was going to implement enemies but didnt have the time. But I am happy to know people are enjoying it even though it could have been better.

Thank you! 😊

Yea the door stuck could have been easily fixed but i was just too drained to think. Next time Ill be much prepared as this gave me the experience and targeted my weakest points. I hope to do better like everyone here next year!

Its great to hear! There is a lot i could have done better even though i could have but I was too tired at the last day to think but im happy to know people are having a positive experience ☺️

(1 edit)

Its completely natural. I had the same experience when I did my first and second jam (This is my 3rd). Messy code is part of the experience when the time pressure is one but knowing u were able to send out something playable and improve from feedback, meet people like yourself it makes it all worth it. Next year you will be more prepared. I hope to do much much better next year this was a really needed experience.

Such a cute game! I never usually play cute games but I had fun with this. Its a solid game, has a really good art style and good platforms, I like how gradually there are different things to expect. The vibe is great and the pressure of time is there. Fun game!
