Thanks for following up. I remember seeing the lock and it said you need to eliminate or tame 1 monster before chest can be opened. Not sure what happened then.

I was able to refine my pick and mine some iron and gold. It feels very fun to refine my tools and weapons. Chopping trees down in 2 hacks is so satisfying. From what I read elsewhere, steel isn't in the demo yet. The red mineral in the obsidian which I still can't mine will have to wait... Unless there's some use for iron and gold right now?

Woah, thanks for the guide!! I'll look into upgrading my pickaxe next.

For the greater cattern, the chest did immediately unlock. I left the area, then came back the next day, and there was my tamed cattern plus an egg. I picked up the egg and couldn't unlock the chest. I moved the nest and next day I was able to open it again.

Really appreciate hearing your thoughts on the game, keep up the good work!

Wow I didn't expect a reply. I wanted to say it's really enjoyable to figure out the hidden mechanics. Like the temperature meter, and wearing trapper hat to prevent cold damage. Also, it took me a while to figure out certain items spoil (didn't realize what the hourglass meant), I kept suspecting the afowls were stealing my food leading to multiple exterminations lol

Some questions on my mind:

Is there a way to mine the ore inside obsidian rocks right now?

Is riding swampjaw to explore water maps a planned feature?

Some observations:

1. After taming the Greater Cattern, its nest was still near the chest. The next day I went to look for the pet and noticed I couldn't open the chest even after moving my tamed pet outside the area. After I moved the nest, the next day there was no issue.

2. 2 hats named Trapper Hat

3. It's possible to hit over 1sq of wall with sword to cheese enemies.

Looking forward to the next update or early release on Steam to try out more stuff like magic/alchemy. Currently the mobs are too easy so not a lot of incentive to do the research grind.

Really awesome game!

Initially it was hard to start but I liked the progression after 4 hours. I'm on Fall 10 and have Level 2 in over half the skills. Favorite moment was taming the Goxen!

fun game! I encountered this bug several times after acquiring at new orb where enemies stop spawning, had to restart the whole game :(

would appreciate a speedup option!

Super fun game! Played for a couple of hours yesterday and today. Joined the Discord and learned I actually beat the game (Behemoth's lair is the last level in case you're wondering). The dev is friendly and working on new updates, looking forward to coming back!

A few helpful tips:

1. Prioritize the mana upgrades in shop. They are permanent (this wasn't clear to me when I read the description), and make a huge difference.

2. Don't think too much about the non-legendary items, they'll be replaced sooner or later.

3. Pyromancer is OP, I got mine to 390 dmg. With barrier + 2 blocks item + Priest as support, this guy just melts everything and doesn't die. The barrier is super key because it prevents knockbacks while it's up. In comparison, berserker gets stunned or knocked back a lot more, which limits damage.

4. IMO, Priest is the best starting class, so I'd recommend trying a few runs to unlock Priest and start a run with Priest.

5. AOE dmg in the form of Berserker's whirlwind or item that has 4th strike is flamestrike (an AOE bomb) is great for clearing lanes. The AOE actually hits additional top and bottom lanes.
