Hey everyone! I'm a solo indie developer from Japan, and I just released my first game.
QRiV Battler is a monster-collecting RPG where you scan real-world barcodes and QR codes to discover creatures generated directly from the code itself.
The same code always creates the exact same monster, no matter who scans it or where they are in the world.
A snack wrapper, a book's ISBN, or a QR code on a poster—everything around you could hide a new creature.
I grew up playing Barcode Battler, and I wanted to reimagine that idea for today's world, where QR codes are everywhere. I've been building this game solo for over a year.
Features
- Scan real-world barcodes and QR codes
- Deterministic monster generation (FNV-1a hashing)
- Five elemental types with unique strengths and weaknesses
- Evolution, daily bonding, and a complete bestiary
- Hidden bosses and a true final boss for dedicated players
It's completely free to play, and I'd love to hear your feedback!
