it's pretty chill tbh. Kept thinking i'd get bored but upgrades were impactful and different enough to keep me going through till I got them all. Bee interesting to see where to take it.
Good work!

No worries! It's funny because I specifically go through Itch games to see what mechanics are being worked/experimented on lol
Turning a new mechanic into a mini game before you put it in your main project or to get a foundation for a mechanic for later is a powerful opportunity previous dev generations didnt have as accessible
best of luck!!
Was pretty fun!! I made it to 1,015.5 before the lag was just plain too much for me so I stood in a corner until they got me lmao
had 3 bowling balls and a bunch of shoot speed xp upgrades. I was lvl 19 and about 20%
Had the goal of 1,000 on the ticker and lvl 20 but for about 30-40 worth of ticker after hitting lvl 19 it didnt seem to move my xp no matter how much I killed, somewhere between 950/975 I looked up and it was filled a lil bit.
Like I said, by the time I hit the 1k goal, the lag was through the roof xD
Cheers on the work though, I enjoyed it!!
Oh, the bowling balls can spawn on top of each other so 2 of my 3 were basically doing the same job lol
Thanks for sharing!!
very interesting theme and seems like it might be fun but a couple things turned me away sorry.
The pan of the map in the beginning is nauseating and doesnt add anything
The text on quests is at a set speed and it is slow
Encountering an enemy, black text with a grey/black background was not a great choice. Or dark gold I guess, either way color scheme needs review <3
I dont usually leave a bunch of criticisms as if I dont like something I just move on. However, this does seem like a very interesting project and I am hoping a few pointers will be received in the spirit they are given and wish you luck on your journey!!
Thank you for sharing this attempt!!
good bones to build on!
I had everything and then some by day 22 so wasnt much point in continuing. Completely understand that is because you are still adding stuff
Maybe consider special items or some such with one time or limited use, then add either boss or swarm waves every now and again to keep things mixed up.
Great work so far!!
Ofc! and thanks for a fun game!
For the record, I am not sure if I could upgrade him past 500, I was referencing his pricing vs output <3
The reason I left him on 500 is because his upgrades didnt make sense to take and I wanted to compare him to later chickens at higher levels
Your project definitely has legs, congratulations!
pretty interesting concept and a good basis to expand on!!
for me, lost all missions day 1 but no injuries. did all missions with same 2 people day 2-8 more success than failure. Day 9 first injury, completed last mission with the backup homie. Day 10 2 injuries, buy a 4th homie for last mission 1 injury 1 arrest lol
While a little mundane in its current form, I can easily and clearly see many paths of growth and good solid bones.
maybe you start small on street or block lvl and move through stages like general area, city compass direction, city, region, country, globe or something could be really funny to see the crimes progress from you hooking up people you know with common issues to you doing globally shady stuff xD
All in all I say great start and if you enjoy this project, keep pushing it because I can certainly see it finding its place.
Cheers!
Very fun!
I got The Dream and Starman before getting soft locked on BaseBaal. Playing browser version so I dont have any files, though it did say it "opened logs" wasnt anything in help about sending em or where to find em, but I hope someone helps you find em soon lol
I had just changed Cheerful Charlie for the Yeti, she really carried the team through some tough times, but as you can see it had just evolved beyond her services lol
I suppose it was destiny after finally cutting the long held never at bat Mascot for Starman shortly before
10/10 would manage a team of misfits to conquer the devil in basebaal again
Looking forward to following this journey!!
it's basically How Many Dudes with 1 Dude lol pretty fun actually!!
Maybe separate the fights out into arenas or tournaments with a special perm upgrade for completely winning. Then lay those out into a map, I suggest free range with zones giving different difficulties but you can go back or way forward if you really want. That way you can train up if a zone isnt going great for you. Towns could take inspiration from Battle Brothers etc. and have different services or fight opportunities in each. Multiple character slots so you can progress different perm things.
Or just leave it in a string like Dudes did and punctuate the journey with different things like 9 kings etc.
Maybe some extra meta progression
def boss fights lol
Anyway, I had fun!!
Huzzah homie! Interesting little endeavor you've got here :)
I dont usually like the word balance in a game critique but you may want to look at increasing some difficulty.
I found it interesting enough to get through a couple stages figuring out how things worked etc. By stage 5/6 I was running straight at any enemies I could find and thinking all I needed was enough range to stand still lol
By stage 15 I figured out I have enough range but the homie doesnt stand still between waves. . . lol. . . so more range required.
in the mid 20's im not doing much but shuffling a bit now and again when he wanders too far, by 35 im running into one side while killing on the other side so it is just me choosing bonuses then a flash then more bonuses lol
Good bones here just need some skin and a bit of adjusting!
