Thanks for playing :)

Thanks for playing !

Goby is one of the first games i tried of this jam, without knowing it was probably the only other game in the jam with the same main mechanics as our game XD. We dont have that level of polish, but we are happy with our game and is great to see a game so similar with that level of quality, there is a lot to learn from it.

Glad you enjoyed the game :)

Thanks for playing !

Nice game !

The art and enviroment feels great with the camera position and the audio is good too. The gameplay is fun and challenging with the boss fight.

Obviously needs some polishing, for example a timer as the one in the boss area for each time you enter an area with enemies and invisible walls to make you kill all the enemies before going to the next area: Thats cause now you can ignore evey enemy and go into the boss and also feels weird not having life bar for your character in the previous sections of the boss, so my suggestions would help with that. I suggest you fix the fact that you can walk over enemies and a great thing to make the game feel more polished (altough very optional) its making enviroment items such as barrels impassable but destructible when hit. Last thing i would say is that the player already knows the controls when he reaches the boss, so i would remove the control icons in the screen during the boss figth, so there is only the relevant info (as you already know controls). All in all, you made a very solid game, congrats !

Also, you can try my game if you want, it just takes 5 minutes ;)

We are glad you liked it :)

Thanks for playing !

Such a cool idea! Fun game, awesome art and audio, congrats!

I dont understand if background color in the actions you choose means something or its just random. I suggest it could mean the difficulty of the math question or something so you easily recognize where are the easy ones and decide which to choose. But the game its very good as it is, i cant think of any other suggestion to improve it, well done !

The art is so awesome !!!

Nice little game, if you polish it could be a fantastic little experience. I suggest you hide the mouse in the gameplay scene and make the art for UI elements. Also adding audio would be great. If you want to make the gameplay more chaotic, now if you hit some trash with your side sometimes its shoots off to the sides and when they hit the ground off-screen you lose one life, but maybe making them bounce with the side walls could be fun.

Nice game !

I personally think putting all the text in the door level that has a timer is not a great idea, if you want people to read the controls dont put a timer of 10 seconds to beat the level (altough you just lose 1 life and you are full life in the next level, the player doesnt know it). I chose the door level 3 times in a row in order to read all the text. I suggest entering door level (with no timer), showing only the first 2 lines of the text and putting press space to continue, then 2 lines more of text and space to continue, another time (shows all the text) and then press space to begin and tjhe timer starts and you can play. (next time you choose the door level this tutorial wont appear, it will appear as it is currently on the game) Another thing is that blade is "impossible" to beat, my best battle left him with 7 hp, but the game is about finding 1s and searching if they have a 2 next to it, then a 3 etc, that is difficult cause in most cases in the whole screen there are like 8 ones, but only three o them have a 2 next to it, and if blades change them you cant do damage in the whole level. I suggest making maps so you can start with bigger numbers (now its always 21 or 321, i almost did a 54321 but a blade changed it) and i would made blades appear less often so the game feels possible to win.

The art is nice, the music is nice, its a short fun experience, i hope you continue developing it and polish so its not that hard.

Thanks for you feedback :)

We will work on a post game jam update to improve the UI and make a tutorial so the game its more intutive and user-fiendly.

Thanks for playing :)

Thanks for playing the game !

We are aware we made a game that isnt user-friendly, we playtested it only the developers (so as we know how its played we didnt thought about other players, big mistake, also no time to test it more). We will be making a post gamejam update trying to make the game more intutive and understandable and i would like to thank you for your honest feedback. Its super helpful to know accurately where the players are having trouble, and often when you try a game and what you have to comment its mostly negative sometimes its hard to write it and decide to post it. We knew we dont show the info effectively to the player, as other comments said, but we probably understimated that lack of the game. Now i will change the description of the game with all the info players need to know so some people will find a guide when lost and of course we will focus on the UI and the info we give to the player in the post game jam update.

And now i would like to thank you again for your feedback, im personally afraid in this cases where im going to comment negative things, cause i dont want to hurt anybody, everyone puts all his love into their games and sometimes its hard to critize. In my case, i love to receive this kind of comments (well it would be better if my game was perfect and there were no comments like this XD, but im still learning and that takes mistakes to do ), it hurts me nothing a bad comment, every feedback wheter its positive or negative its a gift people gives me to help me improve the game and offer the best possible experience. So, thanks for taking your time and writing this helpful comment!

THANKS :)

Im sorry to hear that

Our game could be defined as an idle roguelike, where you choose buffs to counter the debuffs so the timer goes to 0. You should be able to complete the game and reach the end in like 5-10 minutes. With circle button you can look into your buffs and debuffs and dont forget to look the window sometimes, maybe something happens :)

We are aware its not as user-friendly as we wanted, but we are planning a post game jam update to solve that and make it more understandable.

Hope you try the game again and enjoy it now :)
Anyways thanks for playing, we apreciate it !

Nice game, very polished and a lot of characters to play with. I had fun altough i always died after 3 or 4 rounds, it would be nice like permanent beneifts after each run, so its easier to get into harder rounds, but i suppose its just my skill issue. Also, shield seems absolutely useless, i was using it a lot in my first rounds until i read its only for that turn (and in that turn my caster its the last so). Very enjoyable game though, it has potential, great work !

Nice game !

To much info at the start, but makes sense if you start terribly strong and go weaker with every level. Personally it was hard to know if i was selecting or not an ability at the start, in my third run i saw the select/selected text, but it should be made with some visual, like changing the frame color of the ability. Also its confusing when you enter that ability selector, and half the abilities are already selected. The fact that you start with everything and then go weaker i feel it isnt explained as good and clear as it should be, i mean its the unique mechanic of the game, and its on the third page of the How to play guide. There should be a big text before the ability selection menu so you guarantee every player understands the game, you should emphaszize that info because it is so different from what usually happens in other games, and players tend to avoid reading thinking is just another game and suddenly there is a lot of abilities and doesnt know what has to do. Overall its an awesome game, with nice visuals and audio, it can be polished a little bit more (the level up menu for example its strange when opening, feels like it opens two times or something), but its nice as it is, great job !

I WON :)

Also, the first time you run the EXE Windows says it may have virus, and you have to manually declare you consent to open the exe. You could try to do an HTML version, so there are no problems.

Thanks for playing :)

We will be showing a timer when selecting buffs and we will increase the time you have in the post jam update, thanks for your feedback !

Thanks for playing !

Making the game more understandable, intuitive and user-friendly its our number one goal, everyone seems to have a hard time to understand it at first, thanks for the feedback :)

Cute little game, well done !

If you are going to do a post gamejam update you need to do a tutorial, if you dont read the description of the game page you dont understand nothing, just a simple sprite in the menu that explains every icon and how cards work could be enough Also i would move te bugs amount to the right, where the shop is, it should be close so you can see the card price and your bug amount at the same time (as the game is about doing things fast, you have to be able to see that fast too). I would do an easy mode too, where time goes half its speed, and you can enjoy the game without the stress, cause the gameplay is awesome. Very nice game, feels great to play and seems polished, congrats !

Fun short game, i killed all the enemies :)

First two runs i didnt know what to do when my weapone broke, you should change the game page description to say that mouse is needed to use the inventory, as in Contols section its not said, so people know how to play. Also the info of the potion doesnt seem to say that it heals you. Hope you polish the game after the jam finishes, its a fun little game and its visuals feels great.

Oh, you can still update the description of the game page to describe better the sword card. Im going to replay it rigth now that i know it to kill that wizard :)

Wait, the sand clock that is and upgrade als ohas to stay in hand?

Very fun game, well done !

Its very polished and the gameplay is great and enjoyable. It haspotential to be a full game, i ussually now give suggestions and feedback, but this game is awesome, i dont know what to say XD. It even has a leaderboard. I will return here after jam finishes to play more. Maybe you can make a background, but its great as it is. Congrats !

Awesome game !

Firstly, the artstyle is amazing, great job :) Only visual thing i would suggest its that the selected part reamins white, so you can clearly see what you selected. And now, about gameplay, i think as we know the number of life we have, we could know every number (the cost of life of every card, life recieved whith clock, damage done with fireball, and damage increased by sword). I think sword doesnt work (i always do 30 damage), probably thats why it was so hard to reach wizard, and imposible to beat. For the cards you can add more visual info (the one i previously said) in the gameplay, or a simple sprite explaining the 4 of them as a tutorial before starting a run and you can always watch it with some key as Tab to remeber it. You should also explain better the turns system, i firstly thought you could use cards or attck in each turn but not both, just say in each turn you can use up to 2 cards and to finish the turn jhust attack. In conclussion, solve the sword card that seems not working and give more info to the player so its more user-friendly, cause the gameplay, as it is know, its awesome. This game has a lot of potential, i will absolutely return here to see if you polished it and replay it.

The title is not lying, this is an awesome game!

The art and music are great and the gameplay feels great, its enjoyable and fun. At first i didnt understand what the left bottom panel was, but after 2 rounds or 3 i understood how the game worked. Altough playing a lot of time i havent understood how money is calculated, tha could be explained at the start of the game in some tutorial spite if you are going to polish this game after the gamejam. Also, i think it would be better to have the description and info of your current ball as you can read it before shooting with no time limit, to remeber what it does, and for the next ball, just show the icon somewhere. The combo panel should be somewhere more close to the game, as you are focused on the gameplay and you cant see it easily. And another suggestion is making the remaining score a slider like the combo bar (you can have the number too) but it wouldbe more visual. Great game, it has potential if you want to update it after jam.

Cool game!

I love the sound effects when you jump and the music too. The art is awesome. The gameplay is hard the first 2 or 3 runs cause there is no explanation (i suggest one or two GIFs showed on screen each time a new tile is presented as a tutorial) but once you understand the game is fun to play (my record is 230m). Now you can get pretty far in meters just staying in the same one tile and jumping whithout moving when its about to explode, but it would be easy to penalize this strategy just making money useful, cause with that you hardly get any money.

I really like the concept, it reminds me somehow of slime rancher.

Its a good game and i enjoyed it but it really needs some balancing. The only strategy that works is going to the right getting 2 coins for 2 skeletons, going to bed and repeat, but upgrades are incredibly expensive. Hope you update the game post jam and make it easier, the game has potential.

Thanks for playing, glad you liked it !

Yeah we made two interactable buffs, there is also a coin you can flip and to get +3 or -3 seconds :)

We are working in making the game more user-friendly in a future update too.

It took me a while to realize you can put the mouse in an ability and see its description but then i could beat 4 or 5 enemies. Very enjoyable game, the mechanic of the count down is a great idea and the artstyle and quality is just amazing. One the best games i tried so far, you could easily turn this into a whole game with more characters, enemies, etc. Congrats !

One of the best ideas ive seen in this jam. Its fun, short and challenging and its beautiful too. Firstly i thought it would be just using my head to count, then i saw the animations and i thought easy, every animation shows 1 second. But the solo players of football, the tennis players and the blacksmiths were really a good design. I enjoyed it a lot. Congrats for your game!

I almost quit playing when i failed two times in a row the rocket launcher section. Im gald i didnt, the next run i won the game :D

Art is very nice, you have to get used to the controls but in a few runs you understand them. Audio is great too. Overall its a short and fun game, congrats!

If you want to polish the game my suggestions are: a progression bar in somewhere the HUD or when you die like (4 of 7 rooms cleared), cause the player doesnt know if its a shortt game or a long game, and spending 5-10 minutes and seeing you are near the end makes you want to continue. And instead of putting the controls and mechanics in the description of the itchio page where half theplayers dont see it, it would be nice to show it in the sky or background of the levels or rooms gradually when you need it, so the player understands what to do with the shield enemies for example.

Im a big fan of the intro and both endings in comic style. Overall a great game, with nice art and audio and an enjoyable gameplay. I was having a hard time with my no abilities build but then i decided to go full shooting and i destroyed them all :)

The artsyle feels so unique and awesome! Its a simple and short game, but its enjoyable and fun, moving the flies feels great, nice art, nice music. Hope you reach the top, at least in artwork. Such a unique game! Congrats!

We will try to make it more intutive for players in a post game jam update.
