I love this game. You replicated the terminal+shell so accurately. You even added redirects and small QOL things like autocomplete. My only gripes are that you can’t use mousewheel to scroll (which I know older terminals did not support but its convenient) and the text animation felt overdone. The text animation was really well done but I felt like it was slowing me down.

Overall tho, I loved this game. The puzzle was great, it was a good narrative, and again you absolutely nailed the look, feel, and features. Great work!

Hmm thats a good question. I think thats one of those things where you come up with maybe 2-3 different iterations and trial them separately with play testers. Then you’ll know which is best for bringing attention to the “thinking” boards. Color is a good place to start. Maybe a small particle effect like a sparkle would work too. Good luck!

Ohhh that is honestly a good idea. I agree, adding markers for all enemies might clutter things. But adding it for the special waves would be super useful. Thanks for the idea and I’m glad you enjoyed the game!

This was a fun and simple game! Its one of those games I’d love to play on my phone while commuting. A fun time waster for when I wanna chill. It actually reminded me of Uno. Your card designs are very nice and cute, and I like the animations and sound effects. It makes it very satisfying to click on the cards.

My one suggestion to you is to add some chill music. Doesn’t have to be anything stellar, just something to fill the dead air.

Great work!!

Fun game! My only complaint is that it boots you to the title screen and you have to mash through the cutscene every time. A quicker restart would go a long way!

The platforming felt so solid, great work that. I would totally play a game just with that character’s controls and physics. Creative way of doing counting with the platforming. I do think the game is pretty easy though and I was able to go for a while. I think adding more obstacles would help, like spike traps that reduce your time.

I love everything about this game. The only small criticism I have is that its hard to tell how to balance the ship. Unless I am just dumb. But I was really struggling with figuring out how to make my ship not spin out. I tried a lot of different ship designs. So maybe some sort of metric or a note explaining that mechanic would be useful.

A perfect game otherwise, I played this for over 30 minutes. I got so lost into it. Amazing work

Insanely well done for 4 days. Its so good I don’t even have much to say. Just incredible work.

Fun game! I wish it had an undo button. I suffered from a few accidental clicks.

The core mechanic is so creative. It adds a lot of urgency to the game. I especially love that it bounces off enemies. I love throwing it, catching it right as it bounces, and then throwing it again. Feels so slick.

Not sure if this is intended, but I noticed that if I hug the wall and throw the heart along the wall, it immediately stops. I guess because the heart stops if it hits the wall at all. I feel like the heart should be able to be thrown in that way since its not necessarily hitting it but sliding along it. Up to you tho!

Amazing work, definitely one of my favorites for this jam.

Nice work completing your first game jam! My suggestion for you would be to have music that isn’t so high pitched and loud. Honestly, the only reason I didn’t keep playing more is because the music was a bit grating. Maybe a volume knob would help with that.

Your writing is so funny. You nailed that Earthbound/Undertale style. I liked the art style as well!

Overall, this is a fun platforming game. I think one thing you can improve when it comes to the platform is the slipperiness. For a game like this, I think tighter physics would be more fun but I also understand if you like the slipperiness because it adds difficulty. The camera also has some weird jitter/shaking. I’m not sure if its intentional but figured I’d call it out.

Good work!

This was fun and creative! The main rhythm mechanic is something I haven’t seen before. Your art is nice and I liked all the different fish. If you want to expand on this, I bet you could make it into a full blown typing game! Then you would have the full keyboard to work with and could add even more fish. If I was a kid learning to type for the first time, I’d love a game like that.

Your tutorial screen is hilarious btw. Good work!

This was fun! Especially towards the end where the number was getting really big. Small critique: the card that says “Add 1 fuel when the ones digit is 0” isn’t entirely clear about which number its talking about. For a while I thought it was the ones digit of my score, not the timer. So I thought it was broken until I noticed it working with the timer.

Good work!

I think overall the game is pretty amusing, albeit not well balanced. Similar to real life, opening the microwave at the correct time is a quick skill-check in the game. Its a good way to reward players who can track that through the chaos. I tried to introduce some semblance of risk and reward by creating power ups whose strengths scale with their cook time.

I’m super proud of the art, as I have just started learning how to create pixel art in the past week.

I think overall, the microwave concept has a lot of directions to go: actual non-rng waves, more power ups, more tweaking of the “time to cook” risk/reward pattern, and even adding “radioactive” power ups that require the player to cook the food in their inventory again to make it more powerful. These ideas never made it into the final game but maybe I’ll add them in the future.

This was a cute game! My suggestion is that you can improve the movement. It feels very sensitive and slippery, making it a bit annoying when you need to line up with an NPC to talk to them.

Good work!

This was a fun game, but pretty short and not a ton going on. Despite that, I still enjoyed my time with it and you can definitely expand on this concept.

I think you can improve the smoothness of going from level to level by adding one very simple thing: allowing the player to hit enter when the level is over to go to the next stage. This makes it so that the player doesn’t have to lift their hands away from the homerow and to the mouse. I think thats a very small but important thing in a typing game. The more keyboard oriented you make it, the more satisfying it is to play and the longer the player can stay in a flowstate.

Good work!

Great aesthetic, music, and general concept. Would definitely be sick once you get some voice to text in there!

This was a fun game! Its a pretty simple concept but the count down adds a nice level of urgency to the gameplay. You nailed the chalkboard aesthetic as well. I think one thing you can improve is your visual cues for when the boards are ready. Maybe it was just me, but I would forget/not see that another board was ready. I think there needs to be a bigger difference between the thinking state and the playing state.

Awesome job!

This was a very fun game. You honestly have the best tutorial of any game I’ve played this Game Jam. I think it was very smart to get a voice actor for the tutorial. An issue I have with many tutorials (including my own) is that they are rather bland and I stop paying attention. But your tutorial gripped me and I was able to learn the game very easily.

The rest of the game was awesome! It was especially fun once I got multiple lights, it started getting a bit chaotic in a good way. Theres a lot of potential here, I’d love to see a bigger game where you manage more aspects of the stage, not just the lighting.

I did run into one bug that I couldn’t reproduce: The first time I booted the game, the tutorial froze. The voice stopped talking and I couldn’t do anything aside from moving the hand. I am not sure what happened there but refreshing fixed it.

Very good job!

Fun game and creative concept! I enjoyed the back tracking feature and it led to some interesting gameplay. The only issue I really had with the game was the inverted colors, they were hard on the eyes. I feel like you could have used grayscale to signal that the player was backtracking instead.

Good work! bawk bawk bawk bawk bawk bawk bawk bawk

This was a fun and simple game. Something I’d love playing on my phone. I only have one critique: I think that the player’s hurtbox was a bit unforgiving and it felt like I got hit sometimes when I shouldn’t have. Great work though!

I can’t believe you made me kill Glungus :(

Very fun and silly game. Nice one!

This is a very creative game! I like how the clock is used as the central mechanic for how the game operates. Unfortunately though, this game wasn’t for me so I didn’t get super far into it. Despite that, I see the vision and I appreciate the concept and the amount of polish it has! Great work!

This game has a great narrative especially for a game jam game. It made me feel so sad haha. I incorporation of the theme was great too and I enjoyed the number game. Great work!

This is sick. The platforming overall felt good, especially once you got some power ups. I like the kinda roguelike nature of this and it was a creative spin on the countdown theme as well. My only issue was related to the shopkeeper UI. It was a bit annoying that every time I entered his text bubble would cover up the descriptions of the items. I’d have to make that go away first before I could read things. Overall, great job!

He became the best chef in the world by simply using a microwave. The other chefs were jealous! Thanks for playing :)

I really love a good PICO-8 game (inspires me to go back to making a PICO-8 game). The parry mechanic was implemented pretty well. I thought it was easy to use and it never felt unfair while still feeling skillful. I really wish I could use a controller though haha, I suck at platformers with a keyboard. Great work!

Fun and simple! I like the puzzle mechanic in general, you really need to think about your step. I think some levels were easier than others but there were also multiple solutions to some of the levels, so that was cool. My only critique is that I think the camera should be zoomed out to show the full level. There were a couple levels where I wished I could see everything.

Good work!!

This was a creative twist to the normal tetris formula. I can tell that you definitely are a big fan of Tetris and it shows through the quality of the gameplay. My only small critique is that the bumping of the window got a bit annoying for me. I get that its part of the game tho

A creative spin on the theme, but ow my fingers. Thats what I get for playing on a trackpad lol

I really dug the idea overall and it was a good spin on the theme. The obstacles were a bit too hard to see coming, so it was kind of a frustrating game.

I totally agree that it needed more juice! Thanks for that feedback

I loved the mechanic of guiding the enemies to the timer. It was a creative way of incorporating the theme and it made the combat very fun! The game gets a tad tedious after some time, but thats fine! Good work!

I absolutely loved this game! I liked the chaos of having to handle all these random tasks and also keep your desk from not getting all cluttered. Honestly, it kinda reminded me of real life work in how there are deadlines and sometimes I get bombarded by a bunch of bombs (metaphorical) at the most inopportune times. You really nailed that feeling and it works well with the countdown theme. My only small critique is that sometimes the alignment of the hand and other objects feels off. This is especially noticeable when using the screw driver or when using the hand to point to things. But that could also just be me.

Great work!

So creative, I haven’t seen a game just like it yet. Having these different characters you have to cycle through was a very nice way of incorporating the theme. The music was my favorite part tho, its such a joy to listen to. Great work! One small improvement: the game felt a bit claustrophobic at times, I think the camera could have been zoomed out a bit more.

This game was so much fun!!! I love 2D platformers! You really nailed the overall aesthetic and the music. As for the platforming, the mechanics were really good and you could really start going fast once you learned. There were also some levels with multiple ways to beat them and I really appreciated that. I enjoyed getting a fast time on the levels as well. One minor improvement is adding controller support. Maybe its just me, but I don’t enjoy playing platformers on a keyboard as much. I feel like a controller would be a lot more comfortable. But this is just a game jam, so thats fine. Great work!

I enjoyed playing this, the art was very cute and its a very simple game. Can easily be expanded upon as well, so theres potential for more!

My favorite part about this game was how satisfying it was to simply press a button at the perfect time. You nailed the game juice on that and its what really got me hooked! Awesome job!
