Welcome to the realm of Cursed Carrier.

The focus of this test is sending the Scourged Roots to the dark realm via the raven in the cage you build at your base, spawning the Altar with what the raven brings back, and reaching the Altar to finish the game. With this simple gameplay loop, my goal is to test all the technical aspects of the system.

⚠️ Note on Programmer Art & Visuals

You will see a lot of placeholder models, unpolished UI, and raw "programmer art" in this build. That's completely intentional. Right now, my full focus is on making the core mechanics, server replication, and netcode rock-solid before layering on the visual polish. Think of this as a skeleton, I need to test the bones before adding the skin and armor. The beauty will come later. For now, it's all about the blood, sweat, and gameplay.

Before you enter the world, please read the instructions below carefully.

1. Grabbing your DEVKEY To keep the test environment secure, keys are distributed manually. Just send me a direct message on Discord and I'll get you set up.

2. Windows SmartScreen "Unknown Publisher" Warning

Since this is an unsigned, early development .exe file, Windows SmartScreen will likely flag it as an "Unknown Publisher". This is completely normal for early testing. To launch the client:

  • Click on "More Info" on the blue popup screen.
  • Click "Run Anyway".

3. Login Process: Your DEVKEY = Your Identity

Once the client is open, enter your preferred Nickname and your assigned DEVKEY.

(Important: This is not a temporary token. Your DEVKEY is permanently linked to your character, inventory, base, and progression.)

  • Single Session: Only one active session is allowed per key at a time. If someone else is using it, you cannot log in.
  • Total Access: Anyone who possesses your key controls your "Sleeping Pawn". They can access your character, items, and base while you are offline.

    Keep it strictly private. Losing your key means losing everything you've built.

4. Bug Reporting & Feedback

You will notice a floating watermark on your screen (e.g., BUILD: 0.1.0.0-DEV | DEVKEY: XYZ). This is my tracking tool. If you encounter a bug, physics glitch, or server desync, please take a screenshot and post it in the #bug-reports channel. That watermark allows me to trace the exact build data and fix the issue quickly.
