Hi GoatBlob,

No worries! We did receive your contact information and will be in touch later today with more details. Thank you!

-In The Making Fest

Got it, the website should reflect the most recent version now. Thanks for pointing that out.

I hope to get some pictures/footage to everyone after the event!

Great, thank you!

Thanks for the update. You should be able to still edit the submitted game file, so if you would like to submit any new version please feel free to go ahead and let us know here when you've done so. Good luck!

Thanks for the clarification! The festival is on April 2nd

Hi AgrMayank

Thanks for your submission to the game jam! We have had some difficulty with figuring out how to unlock the dash/jump features and wanted to ask for clarification on that before the game goes up for judging. Please let us know how we can use these features by April 1st if you'd still like to be considered. Thank you!

Hi Aionmagan,

Thanks for the submission to our game jam! We wanted to ask if this game required a PS2 emulator to play, as we don't have access to those for our festival. Please let us know by April 1st if you would like to be considered for the prizes. Thank you!

Hi Malcfish,

Thanks for the submission to our game jam! Unfortunately on launching your game we're getting a fatal error related to our graphics cards' memory. I wanted to ask if you could re-optimize the game to run on lower specs. For reference, our test computer has an RTX 3060 and was unable to launch the game. Please feel free to contact us if you need further clarification, and do make any changes by April 1st if you'd like to be considered. Thank you!

Hi, thanks for the question. The theme is optional, so the game does not need to include the theme at all. For games working within the theming, we encourage people to be creative and take it in many directions. The elements we've listed are just suggestions!

Thanks for the question. Separate screenshots with detailed file names (gametitle.description for instance) are preferred as we'll arrange selected materials into a brochure/digital zine available at the festival (and on our website!). If you'd like to include something like a readme file explaining your process or further detailing anything in your supporting materials, however, it would certainly increase the impact of that material, though this is not required at all. Hope this helps!

Correct! The games will be rated by guests at the In the Making Festival in Cork, but they will be communicated via judge scores here on itch.io. So nobody is required to be in person for the event! For instance, if the average audience score at the festival is 5, we would rate the game here as 5 in the given criteria.

Hi, thanks for the question! The arcade will just be desktop computers so please program as you would for mouse and keyboard. We will also have a few controllers for the arcade if you'd prefer to program for something like a Logitech controller. Hope this helps.
