I never did get around to playing Beyond Humanity when it was up. What were the differences between it and Between Humanity? I know Beyond Humanity was SFW, but, beyond that (pun unintended 😛) what else was different? Were the NSFW parts of the story replaced by something else, or just taken out with nothing to fill that space?

I don't normally play visual novels like this, but I'm glad I made an exception for this one! This is a genuinely amazing game! On par with Eternum if you ask me! The art is great, the humor is great, the music is incredible, the story is interesting, the lewd scenes are great, and the characters are done VERY well!! This includes our main boy, Lassie. He's a really well done protagonist, which is isn't something every visual novel can say.

That's all for now. I'll write a much longer and more detailed review once I actually finish the game. I only started it a couple days ago, but I wanted to show support by reviewing it now! Keep it up, guys! You're doing great!

Same here man. I discovered Between Humanity last year and I'm so glad that I did! It's by far my favorite AVN. Don't get me wrong, I play other AVNs. And, Eternum and My Bully is My Lover are placed on an equal level right next to it in my top 3! But, what I can always count on with this game is that, I can always go to it when I'm stressed out. Especially now that it can be played on the browser! It's become my comfort game. There's just something about it that gives me good vibes, and keeps me coming back. And I love it for that! I can't wait for chapter 4!

This, combined with Stranger Things season 5 starting in (I think) November, NiiChan working on My Bully is My Lover chapter 2, Two Idiot Germans working on Serverblight, and theMeatly releasing Bendy: Lone Wolf and working on The Cage and B3NDY, is making 2025 up to be the best year in this decade so far!!

Thank you! I'll remember that! Yeah, it sucks what happened with YouTube. But, one good thing that came out of that, is that games like this are gonna get a lot more attention now! And, especially now that Between Humanity can be played on the browser, I've got everything I need to move on from YouTube, and make new memories on here, Odysee, F95, etcetera. Funnily enough, for the first time in a while, I'm looking forward to the future! 🙂

It's genuinely awesome that AVNs have been getting so good recently, that in just about every comments section for all of the big AVNs, including Between Humanity, one of the most common forms of praise is, "Came for the porn, stayed for the story." Really shows how much the genre has evolved.

I'm not DebatingPanda, but, I think I can answer the second question! If I recall correctly, the black heart and purple bar is domination. I don't think it does much right now, but, we can see an example of what it implies if you choose to be dominant with Jane in the shower scene. I imagine later on in development, domination points will have much more significant effects on the story. Like, they'll get you spicier scenes at the cost of morality, that kind of thing. That's just a theory, though. We'll have to see what the man himself says when he sees this.

I agree! This game gets just about everything right! Also, yeah, every girl is special. I saw someone refer to Lucy a few months back as "a precious little muffin," and I think that's an accurate description of her, lol. Lucy is the most wholesome character. ❤️

Which means that more people are likely going to see this game! And, now that it can be played in the browser, I'm theorizing that word about it will spread around quickly! I'm glad your thoughts on pacing hasn't changed!  I know I've brought it up a dozen times before, 😅 but, I brought it up again, 'cause, like I said, this is my remastered review! And, I wanted to keep new players in mind, and wanted to mention everything, even the things I've already talked about; because I don't imagine that the people reading the comments to decide whether they want the game or not, would want to scroll down to the very first time something was mentioned, y'know? I will apologize for how repetitive my words get after a while, though. 😮‍💨🤦 I'm not good at finding new ways to say old things.

It's been a little bit since I've played Between Humanity, because I haven't had the time for visual novels (or any long video games) lately. Something tells me this game is gonna have a massive boom in popularity after August 13th.

We got itch out of the clutches of Collective Shout, but then right after that, YouTube announced that AI age-verification shit. Out of the frying pan into the fire. 😮‍💨

I'm glad I discovered this game. It's one of the few places I can still go to, to forget about how controlling the world has become. That's one of the reasons why I like it so much. It's genuinely become a comfort game for me. As has Eternum and My Bully is My Lover, but not to the same degree as Between Humanity. And, if I had to choose one AVN to stick to forever, it'd be this game.  I still love Eternum and MBiML, though!

If you're someone who hasn't yet downloaded this game, who's reading the comments to see whether or not it's worth playing, I could not recommend a game more. This kind of game is hard to find. This game is special, because it gets things like pacing and restraint a lot better than most AVNs. 

What I mean by this, is that, with most AVNs, you get a brief introduction to the setting and the characters at the start of the game, and then you jump right into a super intense plot, with very little moments of rest. Beyond that, these same AVNs also don't typically wait too long to start giving you super intense, highly explicit lewd scenes. Going straight from 0 to 100 kinda stuff. 

The problem with that, is that, there's no number higher than 100. So, if you jump straight to the top in chapter 1, going full out and showing everything, leaving nothing to the imagination, and giving the player the ultimate high, they've already seen everything there is to see. So, not only will they have a much weaker incentive to keep going with the story, but they will also feel a lot more bored later on, because they've already seen everything there is to see. Even Eternum and MBiML, though they are masterpieces, have this problem to some degree, though it's nowhere as bad as Ripples. I fucking hate Ripples. 🖕

Between Humanity doesn't have this problem, because it understands the art of pacing, and the value of restraint. This game is a VERY slow burn, and that's a good thing! Because, plot-wise, it builds interest. And porn-wise, it builds anticipation.

Because I'm taking people who haven't yet played this game into consideration here, I won't give any direct spoilers to what happens. However, just to give an idea of how much of a slow burn Between Humanity is, we are, by this point, in chapter 4 of the story, and things are only JUST getting started. Between Humanity is in chapter 4 where Eternum was in the second half of chapter 1, and MBiML was in Episode 2 of the Prologue.

And that's good! Because, it means that, when things to start getting more intense, it's going to feel much, much more rewarding! BECAUSE things are so slow-paced in this game, you are given MORE than enough time to really get to know the characters, the setting, and the story; and it makes it a lot more memorable, and, by this point, even nostalgic. Because you aren't thrown straight into it, so to speak. That's for the story, but it extends to the lewd aspects as well, for the same reasons.

Finally, the main character himself, Michael Collins, is a good dude. I'm not going to pretend that he has the same level of personality and writing that Orion Richards and Kei Hahn currently have, because he absolutely doesn't. But, that started to change in chapter 3. And, this game is still young, with a lot of time to add things to him! So, I don't mind Mike not having much to him right now. As for who he is as a person, though, like I said, he's a good dude. He's not a flawless angel, but he has good morals, and he's easy to root for! He's not a typical sleazy AVN protagonist, basically. You could also say he's nothing like Once in a Lifetime's protagonist. 💀

That's all for this review. There's a lot more I could talk about, like Simon and Lilith, but, I don't wanna be typing all day. 😅 Regardless, I hope this was informative, and I hope it helped with your decision on whether or not to play this game! Like I've said already, I highly recommend it. This game is incredible, and it means a lot to me. And, it deserves all the traction it can get!

Also, DebatingPanda, you can consider this my remastered review. This game is surprisingly good! I went into this game not expecting it to be much. But, it ended up making me feel some real emotions! And that's the surprising part. This game is 80-90% just sex scenes. So, you'd think, with so little room for story, that it wouldn't, and couldn't, accomplish much. But, it does, and can! What little parts of the game that *are* used for story, are used very well! The multiple endings is pretty cool as well!

Overall, this is a nice little game! It's not got the same length and story depth that a lot of the big shot AVNs have, and that's okay! It's a nice, cozy, short and sweet* AVN to spend an evening playing! And, for what it is, it's worth a playthrough!

Will it be talked about in 3, 4, 5 years? Probably not. But, is it a nice experience nonetheless? Absolutely!
