I would recommend prioritizing this feature to whatever degree possible. Not having a shopping cart make creates more friction for would-be-customers and discourages customers from buying as much.

I'm annoyed about the lack of a shopping cart too. But accusing the admin of lying just because they haven't implemented a feature is a bit too far. We need less of that kind of toxicity on the internet.
