Hi! I just released the free browser demo of IMAGINERY, an observational civilization simulation.

You don't manage anything. Villagers work, fall in love, form families, commit crimes, elect leaders, and industrialize on their own — from foraging to farming, crafts and industry. You only intervene through weather and miracles, then live with the consequences across generations.

What makes it a bit unusual:

  • Deterministic worlds — the same seed always produces the same history, tick for tick, until you intervene. One lightning bolt forks a timeline forever.
  • Institutions emerge from problems — enough theft and the village invents its first law; overfishing triggers a fishing quota.
  • A documentary camera follows the important events automatically, so you can just watch.

The GIF above is 38 in-game days from one seed — population 23 → 114, foraging camp to crafts town, no player input.

Play free in your browser (no account, no install): https://imaginery.itch.io/imaginery

Honest caveat: the UI is Korean-only right now — English is on the roadmap. I'd love feedback on pacing and what your villagers did when you weren't looking.
