Oh, that one worked, thank you!

We were pleasantly surprised by this entry.
Polish/Completeness: 4/5
We were very happy with both the quality and quantity of the levels. Unfortunately, we do have to take away the point for it not being complete, but even with that, we were surprised with how many things you were able to implement within your game. Your choice of art and style of the game was a nice touch.
Creativity: 5/5
We were happy with your choice of upgrades, especially the slow down mechanic. It added a really interesting depth into the game and after dying a few times we started utilizing the previous upgrades. The level design was really neat, it felt very fluid and we really enjoyed the increase in difficulty, forcing the player to adapt and utilize skill.
Fun/Engagement: 5/5
It was both fun and engaging. We didn't experience any problems, except for maybe the double jump mechanic could've had more velocity or some kind of upwards momentum, but even with this critique, we don't feel it necessary to take away a point for that, because we see the reasoning behind this decision (we feel like the running start impacting the upwards velocity was an intended mechanic, given that we have seen this exact thing in other games).
Overall, we're happy with this game. We've played your previous entry about inventory space management titled "Bag Job" and we liked the game, so it was interesting to see your current entry. Excited to see your next project. Great job!

Please don't be discouraged by the ratings and stick around to the end of this review.
Polish/Completeness: 2/5
We gave this 2 star because the game feels like it came out half baked. At first we didn't even
realize we were supposed to fall down the pitfall given that there were no indicators to go down.
Later when we read Sawed Off's review we realized that there's a "boss" area, so we continued trying to progress and that's how we managed to get to the later levels. We really didn't get what
to do after the boss fight either, because once we beat him, the gray platform in the arena didn't open.
Creativity: 3/5
We liked the design of the game, reminiscent of Limbo, maybe that's why we were happy with it, but still there was a slight problem with the outlines of the line art being too low resolution, still, pretty neat. Despite the pitfall getting a negative light from us in the Polish section, we can't lie -- it's pretty creative.
Fun/Engagement: 1/5
Despite the previous two rating categories, unfortunately we didn't feel that much engaged in the game given that there's one animation for walking and even then, it's like you're sliding on the floor, the fighting still forces the player to exchange hits which makes it very two dimensional. Not too much to add here.
With all of the above stated, don't be discouraged with this review. We were very happy to see this game despite it's shortcomings, this game reached a point that most games don't - it was submitted. It's a very tough thing to be a game developer and you should view this submission as an achievement. If we recall correctly, there were 30 something people that joined this game jam, and only 5 entries. Keep going at it, we're interested in what your next game would be. Good job!

Thank you for both of your reviews!
We didn't expect such a positive response, not to mention playing through the game a second time when we released a bug fix. Seriously, thank you.
There was indeed a GoldSrc influence, specifically Kreedz (given that the creative designer of this project has an embarrassing amount of hours clocked into Kz and HnS). The main idea for us was to lean into it being more of an engaging and responsive experience. Originally the idea was completely different, but we pivoted into this idea after some days of work and deliberation.
We're really happy you enjoyed our game and thanks for sharing what you thought about it with us.
