The idea!
One Hell of a Date is a corporate-reimagined take on Dante's Nine Circles. You play a children's book author who ends up entangled with Lucifer and eight demon department heads, each one running their circle of Hell like a (dysfunctional) corporate division. You're never shown visually (no outfit-gacha, no "better choices = better costume" nonsense) just a default yellow-silk sleepwear look with a hole where your heart should be be for death route only.
Two asymmetric routes:
Death Route: the present, after Lucifer's retirement, under his successor Amon. You're murdered and wake up in Hell's HR/intake floor run by Minos, unable to move on, and slowly work through all 8 departments while a murder mystery (who forged the weapon that bound you there, and why) unfolds underneath it.
Alive Route: a hidden, unlockable past-set route, only playable after clearing all 8 Death Route circles, centered on Lucifer himself.
Nine fully fleshed-out character bibles (Limbo, Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Wrath, Heresy, Violence, Fraud, plus Amon, Minos and other minor characters), a structured mystery with a planned culprit, motive, and clear route-unlock logic are already written.
What's Done!
Full world-building, theology, and Hell's internal politics
-Complete character bible for all 9 demons + Amon + Minos
-Route structure for both Death and Alive paths, including unlock order
-Central mystery fully mapped (murderer, motive, reveal timing)
-Core scripting concepts (blank-insert MC, no visual customization, route gating)
What We Need!
Artist - character designs/sprites /CGs, environment/department backgrounds, UI elements. Distinct visual identity per department is a big part of the pitch, so someone who enjoys designing varied "worlds" within one project is ideal, there are no creative restrictions here!
Programmer - route/flag logic for the department-unlock system, save states across two asymmetric routes, and general engine work as the script comes together.
Team: Currently 3 people (writer/director + 2 others) - looking for exactly these two roles to round things out.
