I joke about it but sometimes I say the real meaning of the game is that the true horror is homework 😭

ah well the way the timings feel fair is that if any two attacks overlap, one of the attacks will be stalled and queued to occur after the previous one. so i set the queue to be just the right timing so it feels like you barely made it out alive

this is most apparent with the bunny and the knocker. probably multiple times you were in the closet and heard knocking and had just the perfect amount of time to reach the door. its on purpose :)

actually in the case where the knocker and the bunny attack at the same time, one of the attacks will be stalled and queue to occur after another one has happened

so if you hear knocking while in the closet there is 100% certainty you can get behind the door in time with about a second or two to spare

ITS SO CUTE HOLYYY

if there is one issue... is that often the different assets get stacked in weird ways which makes it hard to pick up the otters

but nonetheless it made me smile. and thats great

brilliant.

often theres one game with the best visuals
a different game with the best mechanics
a different game with the best audio
a different game with the best ui

this is the first time im seeing a jam game thats all of those at the same time. i managed to 100% every level except for the last one (i just couldn't figure it out). i pretty much never reveal my ratings of a game, but this is 5 stars all around. im blown away

and im following every single dev that worked on this

card games are always tough to make... that's why i can really appreciate the work that went into this
tho spamming the "hunger" button definitely makes the game too easy, the variety of cards is pretty cool and there's definitely a lot of potential in the idea and gameplay loop

omg. its so polished its crazy. defo one of my top games ive played this jam.

wish the combat was a bit more indepth tho, such as lowering defense on the enemy or guarding but i totally get it considering the short deadline.

completely awesome and so silly. loved it

the art is really really good and the concept is also really clever, i don't think ive even seen a mechanic quite like it.
it is pretty difficult tho. it would be nice for the motivation bar to refill at the start of each stage or as others have mentioned checkpoints. but balancing is tough during a jam anyways. really smart and cool game anyways

real simple game but the vibes are immaculate. the biggest standout to me were the expressions. they were all so unique and had so much character.

i also spammed the cat a lot

im in love with the car. its so cute

breaking the clouds was super satisfying too. the only bug i had was sometimes my projectiles would despawn way too early and id have to basically smush myself against the butterflies to kill them

but still rlly cool idea and fun

simple but cool game. the boss fight feels near impossible tho

cinema

very very pleasantly surprised... or rather pheasant-ly surprised?

pretty much the whole gameloop is complete and 100% playable. gets tough pretty fast just from the sheer magnitude of the number of birds, but very fun and well made

people often come in game jams to make something new or technically impressive.

its not often devs come in with the objective to make you feel

this game made me feel, and thats something most game jam games miss. is it the most technically impressive game on this jam? no. but it might be one of the most memorable and in the end i think thats even more important.

great art, fantastic music. good job

im so impressed. the number of sprites you guys had to make for each unique food item really surprised me.

(the secret song was peak)

great sfx and camera shake. really sells the effects. i love myself a good bullet hell but i did feel the lack of i-frames quite heavily (kept trying to dodge through attacks) but a fun game nonetheless

a pretty clever game. theres so much potential in this to unpack! definitely it's biggest flaw is the lack of content, but its totally fair and understandable for a jam. i would love to see healing cards and cooler patterns you have form to use your abilities. good job!

Ah I did consider that. But so much of the atmosphere is from the audio and ofc there’s the jumpscares so I thought it would be better to force you to use sound

im so glad you mention stuff like that. often when im designing games i spend a lot of time on details like that, which improve the game but no one really picks up on. i appreciate the comment a ton

ah there's two possibilities. either you're not in fullscreen which causes some input's to not get registered orrr its your pc

in the latter case, there is a exe file version included in the description but ive literally never even tested it. but it should fix any bugginess caused by chrome being a pain

im obsessed with this art. the vanripper-esque character designs are SO COOOL

my only issue is i had to follow the walkthrough to beat the game as i did get stuck

project moon mentioned?

i tend to love turn based games... and this is no exception

absolutely brilliant. the art is amazing, there's like 6 different playable characters, so many enemy types, and actual gameplay that makes me scratch my head.

the art is fantastic, the music is immaculate. this is my current top contender to win this jam.. but that can change ofc. i will be following you guys as devs and am looking forward to what you guys make next.

pretty barebones but still its something to be proud of for a first time dev

simple and nice beginner project! art is pretty and gameplay while simple is decently engagin

really really cool and so satisfying. a lot of games here miss out on good player feedback but DAMN those slaps feel good. a crosshair would have been nice tho since its really easy to miss with the pencil

in the case where two or more events overlap, they actually queue after each other. stay calm and you can definitely clear any situation even if it feels like they are overlapping :)

simple but fun. defo a fun game to play

its so damn charming! short and sweet but so so silly. i enjoyed it plenty!

dang this project has so much potential and the attack animations are really cool... but its just so so tough haha. im looking forward to what ever you make next

good ending first time ofc. how could i kill my buddy

ABOSULTELY PEAK

that was such a cute and polished experience. literally no bugs and so absolutely silly

holy shiiiiit. that pissed me off

well it did exactly as advertised. i kept going at it and eventually rage quit. well played

The game concept is cool and its pretty impressive for a first game jam. However i think the combat could have been more interesting as I just used the same attack the entire game until i beat it

the attacks were pretty responsive. however i wished there was a dodge or healing or some sort of way to avoid damage. it got a little frustrating finding new enemies and losing a ton of health because i don't know their abilities

I appreciate the comment so much 🔥

don’t for get to leave a rating on the jam submission page 👍🏻

I appreciate it so much. Thanks for playing 🙏🙏🙏
