I've been getting pretty deep in the affinity workflow over the last month so I'm sure I can share some of the things I've learned!

Greetings folks, I'm looking forward to diving headfirst into all the wonderful content and resources we'll be sharing over the coming months.

Today I want to talk about a problem that impacts a lot of creatives: perfectionism.

In the interest of brevity I want to give you the key piece of advice up front and then expand on it below.

Your project will never be perfect, and the pursuit of perfection will keep you from publishing anything. The sooner you learn to make the choice when something is finished the better.

I'm sure most of us have been in a situation where trying to make a project that little bit better ends up with us falling down a rabbit hole and not putting the content out into the world.

That's not to say we shouldn't want our projects to be well produced and polished, but we should never try and make them perfect.

I've been making videos over on YouTube now for years, and my best performing videos have never been the ones I have out the most effort into or the ones I consider to be closest to perfect. 

There's a desire to keep revising work and tweaking things, making micro adjustments that only you care about. But the reality is that even after spending all that time, as soon as you publish your work (be it a book, a video, a piece of art) you'll immediately notice the mistakes, but your creation will be out there and people will be engaging with it, and that's better than keeping it locked away another month!
