You're right! My apologies. I suppose i got hung up on both the name of the jam and the reason why I joined it so I overlooked that rule. I've adjusted my rating accordingly

Great Game!
Theme was very good and well supported by the well polished audio and visuals! The art direction, audio and game play really make the theme standout and if it were for the theme alone I think I would have wanted to explore the entire recipe book made available to explore.
I think the game play isn't for me so I didn't stick around. While I think the game play was great for a comfy cozy game (which is the point of this jam), it didn't draw my interest enough. I also don't think it spoke to the limitation well. The limitation only seems to be present in the name of the game alone. Whether I choose to throw out what I've created or feed the animal seems to be inconsequential. And I think this along with the fact that exploring and unlocking new recipes isn't something I look for in a game, so I didn't stay long. Perhaps I didn't stick through it long enough to see the consequences of my actions.
Nonetheless, I think this game does a great job leaning into the theme of this jam and overall an inspiring and comfy experience! Despite the lack of presence of the limitation I think there is a lot to explore here in the many combinations of ice cream that has been made available! Overall a great comfy cozy beach experience! Very nice work!
Great game!
I think the art went well together on the theme you were going for, but I don't think the theme gave me a comfy cozy vibe that the game jam was about.
The game play was fun! I had enough by the end of the first play personally, however the experience you've created really does hit the limitation directly and I found myself always internally conflicted and in self doubt as to whether I needed to press one colour or the other. It probably added to the stress of the game that took away the comfy feeling for me. But, a very good execution of the limitation!
Audio was great, probably not great for this game jam in particular but I thought it added well to the overall theme you were going for. Reminded me of Paratopic and perhaps that may have been an inspiration here for the overall feel and look. Very well executed in that way.
Overall a well put together experience that I will bookmark for October! Well done!
An entertaining game! I think the music played into the light hearted nature of the game and I think overall the art and sound tied in well together. I personally found it humorous trying to scramble to identify who is drowning and who isn't.
I thought this game was more intense than I would have liked when it came to being on theme for for a comfy game given the time sensitive nature of having to save swimmers in addition to being on the lookout for drowning swimmers.
Also found myself in a situation after losing that I wasn't able to hire any lifeguards because I couldn't afford them.
Overall, a fun experience albeit a little intense for me.
Great game! I enjoyed the art and while this is probably the first GB game I've played in a while this game definitely struck a cord that reached back into my past playing GB games that really made the experience more impactful for me that I don't think was due to the art alone.
I took my time to explore and the game rewards you for this as the story is expressed through the many things you can interact with in your environment. Great work on that!
I really liked that the bus scene wasn't a simple transition and the provided game play lead to some amusing ways to get to the beach.
For some reason the music or sound effects didn't play for me until the end credits began to roll which was disappointing as I think I may have missed some content with the cassettes I found and the boombox. I am not sure if this was a glitch or was something that was cut under time constraint. I also don't think the game followed the limitation well unless I missed something as I didn't find there was anything that mislead me or made me stop and think if I should do the opposite to what I am being told. But perhaps I missed something there.
All in all a great and fun game! It has definitely made me interested in Romance Quest! The story was fun and I think it really added to the theme! Great work Augustar Games!
Fun Game! The sound effects were great and really made this a comfy relaxing game to play. The lack of music and just the sounds of the ocean was a great choice. The delete functionality when using the right mouse button didn't work so I found myself reaching for the eraser tool which kind of took me out of the flow of building. I think The Building Code follows the limitation well and it was fun to discover new violations to break and figure out ways to break them! And I think this all ties together well with the laid-back atmosphere as you explore the sandbox. Kind of felt like I was building a sandcastle at the beach.
I was able to build my dream home in this game too!:
Languages I use are C, Java, some C#, lua, and JavaScript.
Ideally I'm looking for a dev that knows their way around SDL, specifically in C. C++ is fine however. I'm really looking to get the basic concepts and workflow of developing a game down so if you're proficient using libGDX, Phaser, Etc. that's fine too!
This is for the buddy jam https://itch.io/jam/buddy-jam-2.
I don't really have any ideas but figured we'd figure one out.
I use Discord so we would likely collab over that.
